Download Festival is ready to return and rock your socks off!

On Monday (Aug. 3), the United Kingdom-based music festival announced its first wave of performers for the 2021 incarnation of the event.

KISS, System of a Down, Biffy Clyro, A Day to Remember, Korn, Deftones, Black Veil Brides, the Pretty Reckless, Killswitch Engage, The Darkness, and a slew more are set to take over four different stages during the first weekend of June 2021.

At the end of the weekend-long festivities, over 70 bands would have descended and performed at the annual event.

Like every other music festival, Download had to cancel this year’s show due to the worldwide pandemic. This year’s event would have included performances from Iron Maiden, System of a Down, and KISS.

Thankfully, the festival was able to once again secure KISS and System of a Down as headliners for next year’s gig.

“2020 has been a tough year for us all, and we were beyond gutted not to be able to experience Download Festival with you all,” Download Festival’s Andy Copping said in a press statement.

“We gave you Download TV to reflect on memories of the past, and what the festival means to all of us.

Download 2021 is going to be something special and go down in the history books as when the Download family reunited. We’re going to be working hard behind the scenes to make Download 2021 an unforgettable experience and a celebration of the festival we all love.”

“We’re disappointed we weren’t able to make it over this year, but we’re looking forward to next,” System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian said.

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Mostly, we all just want to make sure everyone is provided with a safe and secure environment, so we were prepared to wait as long as we needed to.”

Download Festival will return to its home of Donington Park during the weekend of June 4-6, 2021. General tickets for the three-day show will go on sale this Friday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. on the festival’s website.

The first wave of performers can be found below.

Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Stone Sour, Billy Idol, Queens of the Stone Age, and Ozzy Osbourne are just some of the big names that will take the stage during the first World’s Loudest Month music festival of the year.

Listen: Asking Alexandria drops ‘Where Did it Go?’

After telling fans that they should expect a new song by the end of the week, Asking Alexandria has finally revealed the new tune. On Wednesday (Oct. 26), the United Kingdom-founded band released the second single from their upcoming, fifth studio album. The new song is titled “Where Did it Go?” and can be streamed above.

“Where Did it Go?” will join the group’s previously released song “Into the Fire” on their upcoming self-titled record. Asking Alexandria will mark the return of lead vocalist Danny Worsnop after departing the band at the beginning of 2015; Worsnop’s last album with Asking Alexandria was 2013’s From Death to Destiny.

Asking Alexandria is set to be released on Dec. 15 through Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for the upcoming album can be found on the band’s website here. Those who pre-order the album will get instant downloads of both “Into the Fire” and “Where Did it Go?”

Asking Alexandria will be the follow-up to the group’s 2016 release, The Black.

In support of the new album, Asking Alexandria announced last month a massive co-headlining North American tour with Black Veil Brides. The “Resurrection Tour” will kick off on Jan. 10, 2018 at the Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah and wrap up about two months on March 2, 2018 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. The complete list of tour dates can be seen here.

Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria announce ‘The Resurrection Tour’

Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria will be teaming up this winter for a massive North American tour. On Tuesday (Sept. 26), the Los Angeles-based band and the United Kingdom-founded act announced joint plans to hit the road in early 2018 for a co-headlining tour. The upcoming excursion has been named “The Resurrection Tour” and will kick off on Jan. 10, 2018 at the Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah. After traveling across the United States and Canada for almost two months, the trek will conclude on March 2, 2018 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

Joining Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria for the complete trek will be Crown the Empire. Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale beginning this Friday, Sept. 29, here.

News of the upcoming tour should not come as much of a surprise to fans of both acts; both Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria have new music coming out in the near future. While being interviewed by Rock Sound, Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack unveiled that their new album will see a release time frame of early 2018, though he did not confirm when in early 2018 the new album should be expected.

“The Black Veil Brides record will come out at the top end of 2018,” Biersack explained in the podcast. “The reason for the delay was that—first of all—we took 15 months to make the record, we really wanted everything to be as perfect as possible.” Back in late 2016, the band a new track titled “The Outsiders.” At the time, fans were to believe that the new song would be the first single off the much anticipated new album, but it is currently unknown if it will be featured on the impending record.

As for Asking Alexandria, the group recently released the music video for “Into the Fire“; their yet-to-be-titled fifth studio album’s lead single. According to the band, their new album will be released on Dec. 15 with pre-orders and additional details to be revealed within the upcoming weeks. The new album is the follow-up to 2016’s The Black and will mark the return of vocalist Worsnop who exited the band in early 2015.

Black Veil Brides drop new song

Less than 24 hours after teasing fans on social media with a simple “tomorrow,” Black Veil Brides has unveiled just what tomorrow had in store for those die-hard followers. On Wednesday (Dec. 21), the California-based band released “The Outsider,” the lead single from their upcoming fifth studio album. The almost four-minute track premiered exclusively on Alternative Press‘ website where it was also confirmed that the group will grace the cover of the January 2017 edition of the magazine.

“We are so excited to share the brand new BVB track ‘The Outsider’ from our forthcoming fifth studio album to coincide with the latest issue of Alternative Press magazine!” shares frontman Andy Biersack. “We are in the mixing stages of the record, but in the meantime, we hope you enjoy this song!”

Listen to “The Outsider” below.

The release of “The Outsider” comes over a month after Biersack announced plans to hit the road in early 2017 to support his side project’s (Andy Black) debut album. The final leg of the “Homecoming” tour, is set to kick off on Feb. 9, 2017 at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Penn. and wrap up a little under a month later on March 3, 2017 at the Glasshouse in Pomona, Calif.

As for Black Veil Brides, the group released their fourth studio album back in October of 2014.

Black Veil Brides Cancel Upcoming Show

Black Veil Brides have had to do something that no band likes to do; they’ve had to cancel an upcoming tour stop. The band made the announcement on Monday (Oct. 19) in which they reveal the reason behind the cancellation. Turns out, it’s a little more serious than anyone could have anticipated. The cancellation of the Ventura (Oct. 22) stop of their tour is to allow drummer C.C. Coma (real name Christian Mora) time to let his injured hand get some much-needed rest.

According to the band’s post on Facebook, Coma has been playing shows with a torn ligament in his hand and with the group’s non-stop 2015 touring schedule, the hand has not had time to properly heal or at least get some time off. The band also writes that a doctor had advised them to give Coma a couple of days off, so it can kind of heal. If things go as planned, they will be able to resume the tour for the Santa Ana and Sacramento shows.

Read the band’s complete statement below.

“We are sorry to announce that due to an unforeseen injury we will not be able to perform in Ventura. Our drummer, CC, has been fighting through a torn ligament in his hand which has been made worse by the current tour and travel schedule. We will be returning to Los Angeles for him to see a specialist to heal his hand to the best of his abilities. It has been suggested by the doctor that we give him a few days off before he returns to the stage in Santa Ana. We intend on playing both the Orange County and Sacramento shows to finish off the run, if his injury permits. Again we apologize for the inconvenience and will make up the show at a later date, however at this point we just cannot take the risk of him exasperating an injury that could render him unable to play in the future. Please send your positive thoughts and good vibes his way as he deals with this pain.

– Black Veil Brides”

Like the post states, Black Veil Brides have spent the majority of 2015 on the road in support of their self-titled fourth album which came out in 2014. Here’s to a speedy recovery, C.C.

Black Veil Brides Frontman Calls Out Heckler

We know that there are times when some of our favorite bands decided to head out on tour with certain bands that we can do without. It’s just part of the music world.

Lately, with social media and people trying to push the limit, “fans” have begun to voice their distaste for those bands and some of band members have had enough of it which leads us to what happened during yesterday’s Black Veil Brides’ show in Vancouver.

The band, who are currently on tour with Memphis May Fire, were on stage when some dude in the audience started heckling them. After having enough, frontman Andy Biersack stopped the show to berate the guy, who kept screaming for Memphis May Fire to return.

In the two videos posted below, You can see Biersack yell the guy, call him out, throw the microphone at him to speak his mind, and then launch at the crowd.

Yeah, insane.

While we do not agree with either side, if the guy did not want to see Black Veil Brides, he should have just left the show after Memphis May Fire instead of sticking around.

What did he think was going to happen, MMF was going to come back on stage just to appease him? Come on, dude, get real.
