Escape the Fate Vocalist Issues Cancellation Statement

After being put in the hot seat earlier this week by Warped Tour founder, Kevin Lyman, Escape the Fate have finally released a statement as to why they have pulled out of their tour with Chiodos as well as the upcoming European edition of the Vans Warped Tour.

In case you do not know the back story, Escape the Fate decided to alert Lyman that they would have to pull out of their Warped Tour engagement due to frontman Craig Mabbitt, wanting to be present when his longtime girlfriend gave birth to their second child. Lyman took to Twitter to call out the band for only giving them three days warning about what they were planning on doing. Lyman went so far as to threatening to reveal the real reason for the departure, but the next day had writers remorse and took down the tweets and apologized to his followers for sinking so low. As for Escape the Fate, Mabbitt’s statement can be read below.

“Dear fans of Escape The Fate:

As many of you know, we had to cancel our upcoming European Warped tour And European headlining dates with Chiodos. This was not a decision we took lightly nor wished to make. The fact is that Escape The Fate has had a number of challenges recently – with Monte and Michael, with those in whose trust we previously placed our business and with our families. But all of these challenges are currently being overcome so Escape The Fate can continue to be a band for many years to come – and to be the best band we can be so this never happens again.

It is true that there were many factors that contributed to our inability to do the tour but after it became clear that my girlfriend was facing continued complications with the birth of our son, I had to make the decision to be with her. I’m still at the hospital as I write this, and am happy to report we now have a healthy baby boy!

Nothing is more important to us than our fans and we intend to make it up to all of you. 2013 has been a difficult year for us, but we are confident that we are now poised to make 2014 the best year we’ve ever had. Your support is so appreciated and means more than you can ever know.

Spencer Chamberlain (ex-Underoath) Filling In for Adam Lazzara

Last week, Taking Back Sunday had to cancel a couple of shows when frontman, Adam Lazzara’s wife went into labor earlier than expected. Due to his quick departure, the band decided just to cancel two of their upcoming shows including Tuesday’s show in Des Moines as well as yesterday’s tour stop in Omaha.

Today, the band announced that they had asked former Underoath frontman, Spencer Chamberlain, to fill in the void on he roster while Lazzara spends “as much necessary time” with his wife and newborn child.

The full statement about Chamberlain filling in can be read below.

“Taking Back Sunday announced today that they will resume their fall tour with the help of former Underoath frontman, Spencer Chamberlain. Spencer will fill in for lead singer Adam Lazzara on an indefinite amount of upcoming tour dates starting with the Melbourne, FL show this Friday, October 25th.

This comes after Adam Lazzara had to leave the tour on Sunday when his wife unexpectedly had an early delivery of their second son. After cancelling a few tour dates, the band has decided to continue the tour with Spencer Chamberlain until Adam can rejoin.

Spencer Chamberlain, a long-time friend of Adam, has willingly stepped up to fill in and give the new father more time to stay in the hospital with his family. Spencer was the frontman of Underoath for 10 years and is currently working on a new project called Sleepwave. The band is excited to have him and look forward to Spencer and John trading lead and backing vocals at the upcoming shows. First up will be the Free FIT Homecoming show this Friday in Spencer’s home state of Florida. You can find more information on Sleepwave at

It is unknown when Adam will return to the tour, but he is so thankful to Spencer and whole-heartedly thanks everyone for all of the support and kind words the family has received.”

Bayside Frontman to Drop Off Current Tour

With just three tour dates left before it comes to a close, Bayside have lost their frontman, Anthony Raneri. But before you think that it had to do with some problems within the band, hold your horse because it looks like the singer’s wife is going into labor.

Today, the band posted an update on their social media accounts letting fans know that Raneri would be missing the last three dates because he need to fly back home to be with his wife as they welcomed their first child into the world. They also went on to explain that instead of the band just dropping off with three days left, members from Motion City Soundtrack, State Champs and This is Hell would be feeling in the vacancy. The shows that Raneri will be missing is tonight’s show in Grand Rapids, tomorrow’s show in Columbus and their final tour stop on Saturday in Toledo.

Read the following message from Bayside below:

“Breaking Bayside news: Anthony is flying home to become a daddy, he will miss the final 3 shows of this tour. We have some friends from Motion City Soundtrack, STATE CHAMPS, This is Hell& more helping out & trying to fill Ant’s shoes.
