The lineup for SunFest 2018 is out and like with past years, it looks like festival organizers made it their mission to make sure every music taste is satisfied. On Wednesday (Feb. 21), the official lineup for the 2018 incarnation of the annual South Florida music festival was unveiled. Headlining the four-day music festival this year will be Billy Idol, Girl Talk, Zedd, Incubus, Logic, Rae Sremmurd, Nick Jonas, 311, and Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull.

“We create our lineup to appeal to a variety of people and musical interests,” SunFest executive director Paul Jamieson explained in a statement.

As with past years, Jamieson’s statement still rings true. This year’s roster does have a little bit for every particular music taste as well as those who are interested in stepping out of their comfort zone. Holding down the fort for the pop-loving crowd are acts like Pitbull, Nick Jonas, Zedd, and DNCE while hip-hop fans will be able to enjoy performances by Rae Sremmurd and PartyNextDoor.

For the older fans in the crowd, the music festival was able to secure legendary acts like Billy Idol, who will headline the first night of the event, and KC and the Sunshine Band, who will perform Saturday afternoon. For the rock-loving crowd, bands like Incubus, Grouplove, Dreamers, and 311 will hit the stage throughout the weekend.

SunFest 2018 will invade downtown West Palm Beach from May 3 to May 6. The multi-stage event will return to its home on Flagler Drive right on the waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach. Early bird tickets are currently available on the festival’s website here. Early bird tickets cost $37-$75 with prices increasing on March 9.

The complete artist roster for SunFest 2018 can be seen below while the daily schedule/performance times can be found on SunFest’s website.

Riot Fest Chicago 2015 Line-Up Unveiled

After revealing the line-up for the two other “spin-off” festivals the original made way for, how exactly do you follow that up?

By revealing the completely awesome line-up the original festival is going to have.

After giving fans the list of artists slated to make their way to Denver and/or Toronto (while also keeping some names secret), Riot Fest have released the names of those who will be taking a trip to the birthplace of the festival at their new stomping ground, Douglas Park, Chicago during the weekend of Sept. 11-13.

Much like the others, Riot Fest Chicago will feature performances from Tenacious D, Iggy Pop, Motörhead, Alexisonfire, Alkaline Trio, and many more.

What makes this line-up so different (at least for now) are the artists that will be performing their full albums during their sets(kind of like last year).

Snoop Dogg will perform Doggystyle, Ice Cube & Guests will perform Straight Outta Compton, Rancid will perform … And Out Come The Wolves, The Dwarves will perform Blood Guts and Pussy, while hometown boys The Academy is…will reunite after four years to perform Almost Here.

Check out the line-up below.

If Austin City Limits Music Festival was trying to keep their 2015 line-up a secret, then maybe they need to have a little conversation with their website person about letting the secret out of the bag two days before the official announcement was set to happen.

Last night (May 3), the line-up for both weekends of the music festival was leaked online, with the website’s link circulating the interweb. Quickly after the “mistake,” the post was taken down and now an “Oops, we’re not finding the page you’re looking for” message is appearing, but not before people took to the internet to spread the word and of course screen cap the information.

Sucks for them and their surprise, great for the people who were on the fence about going.

Weekend one will feature performances from: the Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Drake, The Weeknd, Disclosure, Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, The Decemberists, Chance the Rapper, ASAP Rocky, Billy Idol, Run the Jewels, TV on the Radio, Brandon Flowers, Brand New, Father John Misty, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Gary Clark Jr., Royal Blood, Jose Gonzalez, and Daughter, along with deadmau5, Bassnectar, Hozier, and Of Monsters and Men.

Weekend two will have an almost exact line up except with a few changes. Instead of The Strokes, Modest Mouse will take their place and Florence and the Machine were added to the already packed line-up.

Check out the full (leaked) line-up below.

Billy Idol to Release New Album in October

billyidol

Billy Idol is coming back to all you peroxide-haired loving fans!

After nine years of taking a break from the music world, Idol is getting ready to make a comeback, or maybe we shouldn’t call it that since he has been known to take extended periods of leave from the music universe.

The new record will be the rock icon’s eighth album and has been confirmed to be produced by Trevor Horn. The yet-to-be-titled album is set to be released in October, while the lead single from it will reportedly be released “later this summer.” No specific dates, or even month, has been confirmed yet.

Idol’s last record was 2005’s Devil’s Playground. Sticking with the trend of long periods of quiet between records, Devil’s Playground was released 12 years after 1993’s Cyberpunk.

Coincidentally, or maybe not, the album is slated to come out around the same time that Idol’s memoirs, Dancing With Myself, is set to be released [October 17].

Guess it’s time to bleach our hair and get the leather outfits out of the attic.
