Slipknot to take their Knotfest on the road during the summer

Always wanted to go to Slipknot’s annual Knotfest but couldn’t get around to actually making it? Well, it looks like 2019 may be the year that you get the chance to fulfill your dream. On Monday (March 4), the Iowa-founded band announced plans to take their annual music festival on the North America touring circuit.

Dubbed the Knotfest Road Show, the upcoming excursion will find the masked band performing at venues across the continent throughout July, August, and September. The forthcoming, 29-stop jaunt will include shows in Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, Des Moines, Virginia Beach, Denver, Toronto, Tampa, and Austin.

General ticket sales begin this Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m. local time while members of Slipknot’s fan club will get first access to pre-sale tickets starting this Tuesday, March 5.

Volbeat, Gojira, and Behemoth will join as special guests on all dates except for the Iowa State Fair which will only feature Slipknot and Gojira.

The Knotfest Road Show will reportedly coincide with the band’s Aug. 9 release of their new album. Back in October, the band released their first new song in five years, “All Out Life.” The track will reportedly be featured on the act’s upcoming sixth studio effort. The yet-to-be-titled record will be the follow-up to their 2014 release, .5: The Gray Chapter.

As for the other band’s on the lineup, Volbeat is currently working on the follow-up to 2016’s Seal the Deal and Let’s Boogie, Behemoth is touring in support of 2017’s I Loved You at Your Darkest, and Gojira are reportedly working on the follow-up to 2016’s Magma.
