Asking Alexandria stream new track, “Send Me Home”

Asking Alexandria’s much-anticipated new album The Black is scheduled to be released this Friday, March 25, but it looks like the band is doing a good job of letting their fans hear the majority of the tracks ahead of time. On Monday (March 21), the British band headed over BBC Radio 1’s The Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter to unleash another new song from the upcoming record. The new song is titled “Send Me Home” and is definitely that one song which may not fit in with all the others that have been released.

There is not a single ounce of screaming/growls or hard instrumentals on the song. It’s definitely a track we can picture being performed inside of an arena with the audience singing it in unison, almost cancelling out the band. Listen to “Send Me Home” here. To get directly to the track, you might need to forward the clip about a minute in.

“Send Me Home” will join previously released tracks, “Here I Am, “Let it Sleep,” “I Won’t Give In,” “Undivided,” and title track “The Black” on the group’s fourth studio album. The Black is set to be released this Friday through Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website, but act fast since the release date is almost here.

In support of the new record, the band will hit the road once again this spring for a slew of tour dates as well as a couple of rock-centric music festivals. The trek will kick off in late April at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, FL and its sister festival, Fort Rock in Fort, Myers, FL. Their North American trek will then wrap up on May 29 at the River City Rockfest in San Antonio, TX. The second leg of their North American tour can be seen here.

Asking Alexandria release “Here I Am”

With less than two weeks until the release of their highly anticipated new album, Asking Alexandria has premiered another new song from the record. On Wednesday (March 16), the English band unleashed the fifth track from the new album, “Here I Am.” Compared to previously released tracks, “Let it Sleep” and “The Black,” “Here I Am” is a little more on the mellow side, or as mellow as you can get when your band is classified as “metalcore.” Check out the new song below.

“Here I Am” will join previously released tracks “Let it Sleep,” “I Won’t Give In,” “Undivided,” and title track “The Black” on the group’s fourth studio record, The Black. The Black is set to be released on March 25 through Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website.

Their North American trek will then wrap up on May 29 at the River City Rockfest in San Antonio, TX.

Asking Alexandria debut music video for “Let it Sleep”

With a couple of weeks left until the release of their upcoming new album, Asking Alexandria has unveiled another new song from it. Over the weekend, the English band unleashed “Let it Sleep”; the fourth single off of their impending record, The Black. In addition to the track, the band has also released the official music video for the new song which can be seen below.

“Everyone has their inner demons. Everyone has their own mental fights they have to deal with. Don’t let them consume you. Let them serve as a reminder that things could always be worse. Fight your inner demons and find your inner peace,” said guitarist Ben Bruce about the new song.

“Let it Sleep” will join “I Won’t Give In,” “Undivided,” and title track “The Black” on the group’s fourth studio record. The Black is set to be released on March 25 through Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website. In support of the new record, the band is currently in the middle of wrapping up their joint trek with Bullet for My Valentines on their “The British Invasion Tour.” The excursion will wrap up tonight at Metropolis in Montreal.

The two bands will once again reunite in late April at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, FL and its sister festival, Fort Rock in Fort, Myers, FL. Their music festival appearances will then wrap up at the River City Rockfest in San Antonio, TX on Sunday, May 29.

Asking Alexandria Unleash Video for “The Black”

With just a little over a month left until their new record hits stores, Asking Alexandria have released the music video for their latest single. On Monday (Feb. 1), the North Yorkshire band released the music video for “The Black,” the title track from their upcoming new record. The new single will join previously released tracks “I Won’t Give In” and “Undivided” on The Black. Check out the new song, and its music video, below.

The Black marks the band’s fourth studio album as well as the first one with new vocalist Denis Shaforostov. Around this time last year, former vocalist/founding member Danny Worsnop announced his departure from the band to focus on his new group, We Are Harlot. By the looks (and sounds) of things, it doesn’t appear that Worsnop is missed.

The Black is scheduled to be released on March 25 through Sumerian Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available on the band’s website here. In support of the new record, Asking Alexandria will be hitting the road with Bullet for My Valentine. Bullet for My Valentine’s “The British Invasion Tour” will kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the House of Blues in San Diego. After being on the North American touring circuit for about a month, the tour will then wrap up on March 7 at Metropolis in Montreal. The complete list of tour dates can be found here.

In addition to the tour with Bullet for My Valentine, the two bands will once again reunite at two Florida-based music festivals in the spring: Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville and Ft. Myers’ Fort Rock.

Asking Alexandria Confirm Release of New Album

image

Typically, when you get asked to join the Vans Warped Tour for the complete summer as a somewhat headliner, it means that you will be releasing some new music. Well, as the past has shown, that’s not always true. But for fans of Asking Alexandria, it looks like they will indeed be getting new music in the new year. Late last week, when most of us were celebrating the holidays, the band took the time to announce the released of their fourth studio album.

The band’s upcoming new album will be titled The Black and is set to be released in March through Sumerian Records. The Black marks the band’s first album without longtime vocalist, Danny Worsnop as well as the arrival of new singer, Denis Shaforostov, formerly of Make Me Famous. In an interview, guitarist Ben Bruce revealed how exactly things have changed with the arrival of Shaforostov.

“One thing that was a huge, huge difference – which was really refreshing – is Denis was really involved with the writing,” said Bruce. “He would critique me, he would give me ideas, he’d be, like, ‘I’ve heard you do better. Do better.’ And he really, really pushed me, whereas Danny would just kind of not do anything. I’d send him the songs and he’d be, like, ‘That’s shit. I don’t like it. It’s too heavy.’ And then, ‘If I have to do it, I’ll do it.’ So there wasn’t much interaction between me and Danny, but with Denis, he was very hands-on.”

Prior to the new record’s announcement, the band has released two new songs; “I Won’t Give In” and “Undivided,” showcasing Shaforostov’s vocals to those AA Family members who were still apprehensive about the addition. Check out the artwork for The Black below.

Bullet For My Valentine spent their summer supporting Slipknot and Lamb of God on their joint headlining “Summer’s Last Stand Tour” and promoting their new album, Venom. Asking Alexandria spent their summer introducing their brand new singer, Denis Stoff, to their fanbase during this year’s Vans Warped Tour. In addition to headlining Warped Tour’s UK installment, the band will be heading out on their own tour in the UK, and Europe, this October.

Asking Alexandria Cancel Upcoming Two Shows

Less than 24 hours after revealing the identity of their new singer, Asking Alexandria have already had to cancel two upcoming tour dates.

The band announced this morning new vocalist, Denis Shaforostov was not granted his visa because the “US government took far longer than anyone could have predicted” resulting in them having to cancel their performances at both Manchester Academy on Sunday (May 31) and the London Underworld on Monday (June 1).

Taking to the web, guitarist Ben Bruce unveiled the saddening, and most likely infuriating news, but did let the fans know that the other guys (sans Shaforostov) will be at the venue for both shows to “hang out.”

Sorry Denis.

“It is with a heavy heart and a great deal of frustration that I must regrettably inform you that our two UK shows have been cancelled due to visa problems.

We have spent the last few days doing everything we possibly can to make sure that these shows wouldn’t be cancelled but at the end of the day the US government took far longer than anyone could have predicted giving Denis his visa which has left us no time to finish his visa process to enter the UK.

You have no idea how much we were all looking forward to these shows and I promise you we will make it up to you. Myself, James, Cam and Sam will still be flying to the UK and will be at the venues on the day of each show to hang out with you guys.”

Asking Alexandria Debut New Song Featuring New Vocalist

Months after the departure of their original vocalist, Asking Alexandria have picked up the pieces and given fans not only their first new song without Danny Worsnop on the microphone, but also finally revealed the identity of their new singer.

About a minute into the video for “I Won’t Give In,” it was revealed that Denis Shaforostov, formerly of Make Me Famous, was chosen to take over vocals.

Much like Shaforostov, the rest of the band members wrote letters to their fans about the new chapter in their lives and how much they look forward to it. Those letter became the background for the new song.

Check the music video for “I Won’t Give In” below.

For a band that have such a dedicated fan base, it comes as a surprise that they were able to keep Shaforostov’s identity a secret. This is also from the same band who revealed they would be on the Vans Warped Tour this Summer without waiting for Kevin Lyman and company to unveil it.

At the moment there doesn’t seem to be a new album coming out anytime soon, but that might change in the near future.

As for former vocalist Worsnop, his new band, We Are Harlot released their debut, self-titled album at the end of March.
