We all know that musicians, especially those in bands, get a little too into their shows. We’ve seen our fair share of musicians taking to social media to reveal that they managed to hurt themselves several time in some shape, way, or form during a tour. During their stop in Pomona, CA on Motionless In White and Devil Wears Prada’s co-headlining “Apollo X Tour,” The Word Alive’s Telle Smith definitely took the cake when it came to injuries during a show.
According to social media posts by both the band and Smith himself, he stage dove which resulted in a broken rib, another rib was fractured, and a bone in his spine was broken. But while most bands will think about cancelling the rest of their tour due to the major injuries, The Word Alive kept on going. Let’s put this in perspective: The injury happened on Nov. 14 and today (Nov. 19), the incident reached the web.
Talk about dedication.
Check out some tweets from Smith, and the band, below about what happened that night in Pomona as well as a fan shot video of that night. No word on whether the video shows what exactly led to Smith’s injuries.
Currently, there is only one day left on the Apollo X Tour, tomorrow (Nov. 20) night’s stop at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis, MN.
Motionless in White treated fans in Boston to a nice throwback with a Linkin Park cover. During their stop at Boston’s House of Blues on Monday (Oct. 19), the Pennsylvania band treated fans to a cover of “One Step Closer” which ended up being a pretty good cover of Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory hit. Check out the fan-shot video of the cover below.
As with any fan-shot video, we do give a warning that the audio is a little hard to hear (Chris Motionless sounds drowned out), but the actual footage is probably one of the better videos we’ve seen in a while. Also, there is a lot of use of flashing lights, so be warned.
Motionless in White are currently in the middle of their co-headlining “Apollo X Tour” with The Devil Wears Prada. The two bands alongside opening acts The Word Alive, Upon A Burning Body, and the Color Morale, are scheduled to perform at the London Music Hall in London, Ontario, tonight (Oct. 21).

The Devil Wears Prada may have just released their new album last month, but now it looks like they’re ready to start on some new music. Taking to Instagram, frontman Mike Hranica revealed that the group has already begun to write songs for what is to be their sixth studio album. Hranica writes, “So long for now, Wisconsin // Writing session number one for TDWP full length number six.”
Check out the post below.
News of the band beginning to write new music comes a month after they released their conceptual EP, Space. In support of the new record, it was announced earlier this month that The Devil Wears Prada will be joining Motionless in White on their upcoming tour this fall. The tour is slated to kick off on Oct. 17 at The Paramount in Huntington, NY and wrap up on Nov. 20 at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis, MN. Tickets for the show are currently available for purchase.
