Paramore, Best Coast to embark on North American tour in the fall

Paramore’s fifth studio album hit stores last week and now, it looks like the band is ready to take the new tunes on tour. On Monday (May 15), the Tennessee-founded band announced plans to hit the road this fall. The tour, which has been named “Tour Two,” will kick off on Sept. 6 at the Moran Theater in Jacksonville, Florida and conclude almost a month and a half later on Oct. 17 at the Ryman Auditorium in the band’s hometown of Nashville. Best Coast will open for Paramore for most of the excursion with the exception of all three Florida stops (Jacksonville, Miami, and Orlando).

For fans ready to purchase tickets, there will be a total of three pre-sale options. The first pre-sale option is AT&T’s priority pre-sale which begin on Thursday, May 18, at 10 a.m. local time. More information about that option can be seen here. The second pre-sale option available is for Citi® card members. Those who qualify will get the opportunity to purchase tickets beginning Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. local time through Citi’s Private Pass® program. More information about that option can be seen here.

The third and final pre-sale option comes directly from Paramore. Like many bands hitting the road this year, Paramore has joined forces with Ticketmaster to combat bots and scalpers. Fans who are interested in purchasing pre-sale tickets through the band will need to register and become a verified fan. Those who register, and are verified, will receive a unique code on Wednesday, May 17, two hours before the tickets go on sale. Once they get to the pre-sale page to purchase the tickets, they will need to enter the unique code which will guarantee them tickets. Registration to become a verified fan is currently available here and will end on tonight at 10 p.m. PST.

Once all the pre-sales end, general admission tickets for the tour will begin next Wednesday, May 24, at 10 a.m. local time. For more information about the tour, head on over to Paramore’s website here.

Watch: Paramore cruises in new music video

A couple of weeks after releasing their first new song in nearly four years, Paramore has returned with another new tune. On Wednesday (May 3), the Tennessee-founded band unleashed the second single from their upcoming new studio album, After Laughter. Instead of just releasing the audio of the new song, the group debuted the music video for “Told You So” which was directed by Aaron Joseph and the group’s drummer, Zac Farro.

The video begins with frontwoman Hayley Williams who appears to be locked inside of a house all alone. While Williams is in the house, Farro and guitarist Taylor York are cruising around in a cheesy green screen graphics appearing through the back window. As the video progresses and it appears as nighttime has fallen, Williams looks like she escapes the house into the middle of a street as headlights illuminate her. Before we know what happens, Williams has joined York and Farro in the car. Watch the complete music video for the new funky song above.

“Told You So” will join lead single “Hard Times” on Paramore’s impending fifth album, After Laughter. After Laughter is set to be released on May 12 through Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders are currently available on the band’s website. For those who purchase the album ahead of time, they will receive instant downloads of both “Hard Times” and “Told You So.”

In support of the new album’s release, Paramore is scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, May 17. The group will reportedly perform lead single, “Hard Times” during their appearance.

Paramore announces release of ‘After Laughter’

After what felt like weeks of teasing, Paramore has finally unveiled what they had hiding under their sleeves. On Wednesday (April 19), the Tennessee-founded band announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album next month. The new album, which has been titled After Laughter, is set to be released on May 12 through Fueled By Ramen.

In addition to updating fans on the name of the impending release, giving them the 12-song track listing, unveiling the album art, and confirming the release date, the trio has also premiered the music video for its lead single, “Hard Times.” The over-three-minute clip features the band performing in a technicolored world that gives some serious 1980s vibes. As for the song itself, it doesn’t quite sound like what Paramore fans were expecting. At first listen, it doesn’t quite seem to make an impression, but after several listens, it does sound like something you can blast through your speakers and dance around to all summer long.

Watch the music video for “Hard Times” above.

Pre-orders for After Laughter are currently available on Paramore’s website and will include an instant download of the new tune. After Laughter marks the band’s first new set of songs since the release of 2013’s Paramore.

The record will also mark the first album to feature the band’s new lineup of Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro. Last year, rumors began to circulate that Farro was returning to the band after a slew of images posted by the other Paramore members made their way onto social media. For months, his status with the group was unknown, but in early 2017, things changed when the band confirmed that Farro was once again an official member of Paramore.
