American Music Awards 2015 Update Performers List

The American Music Awards are just a couple of weeks away from broadcasting live from Los Angeles, and now the people behind the annual awards show have unveiled the rest of the performers. Previously, it was announced that acts like 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and Carrie Underwood would hit the stage during the yearly music awards show. On Wednesday (Nov. 11), the rest of the performance lineup was unveiled.

Coldplay, Gwen Stefani, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have now been added to the already full list. Last Friday (Nov. 6), the group debuted the song live on TFI Friday, a United Kingdom-based television program.

Also rounding out the heavy list is Gwen Stefani, who will reportedly perform her own new single, “Used to Love You” and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who will debut their own brand new song during the show. As of now, there has been no indication on what the name of the new song is.

The American Music Awards is schedule to broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Nov. 22. For those watching from home, the show will be broadcast on ABC. Jennifer Lopez will play double duty for the evening, both hosting and performing on the show.

‘Rising Star’ Announce Their Judges, Host

ABC is trying to get in on the singing reality television business with their new show, Rising Star. The commercials, which have been airing during their primetime shows’ season finales doesn’t give much except the fact that it’s a singing show, kind of in the vein of The Voice, but more “interactive.”

Today, more information has been given about the show including who the host and judges are going to be. Kesha, Brad Paisley and Ludacris have been tapped to appear as judges on the show while Josh Groban will take on the role as the summer competition program’s host. Like many musical artists before them, this is their first venture into the show world like this. Brad Paisley has played host at the CMA’s with Carrie Underwood several times while Ludacris has acted and will host this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards.

Kesha had her own “unscripted” MTV show, Kesha: My Beautiful Crazy Life which is as far as she’s gone, while Josh Groban almost beat out Michael Strahan for Regis Philbin’s vacant seat on Live! thanks in part to his many guest co-hosting gigs on the show.

Rising Star is based off a popular Israeli show with a similar set up. This will be ABC’s second attempt at this kind of show; their first attempt was 2012’s Duets which was a dud from the get-go.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 18 Cast Revealed

Dancing with the Stars has been making headliners over the past few weeks with not exactly the best kind of news. First the people behind the series fired longtime band leader, Harold Wheeler and his 28-piece band to make room for a new band to “freshen” up the series.

Then two weeks ago, the series fired underwhelming co-host Brooke Burke-Chavert only to replace her with another underwhelming choice for co-host, Erin Andrews in an effort to bring in younger viewers. Among all the bad news, the list of contestants for the upcoming season had finally been revealed.

Taking to Good Morning America, like they do every season, the list was revealed to include a few actors, some musicians and of course some athletes. The full list of season 18 contestants can be seen below

Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian from Star Wars) and Emma Slater

Candace Cameron Bure (DJ Tanner from Full House) and Mark Ballas

Charlie White (Olympic Gold Medalist; Ice Dancing) and Sharna Burgess

Cody Simpson (Singer) and Witney Carson

Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years) and Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Diana Nyad (Swimmer) and Henry Byalikov

Drew Carey (Comedian, Host of The Price is Right) and Cheryl Burke

James Maslow (Big Time Rush band member) and Peta Murgatroyd

Meryl Davis (Olympic Gold Medalist; Ice Dancing) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

NeNe Leakes (The Real Housewives of Atlanta) and Tony Dovolani

Sean Avery (NHL Player/Model) and Karina Smirnoff

Amy Purdy (U.S. Paralympic snowboarder) and Derek Hough

A new twist has been revealed as well in an attempt to being in new viewers. The contestants will get the chance to switch partners and American will get to vote on the new pairings. What about that for a twist?

Dancing with the Stars season 18 is set to premiere on March 24 on ABC.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Welcome Surprise Guest Star

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to stick with the whole Marvel’s ideal when they had a surprise, guest star make their appearance right before the credits during one of the episodes. If you didn’t tune into see, it was Nick Fury putting Agent Coulson through the ringer for not listening and doing what he wanted.

While it was great to see our favorite one-eyed head honcho on the small screen, there’s one guy that fans of the superhero franchise probably hope to see in the near future and that has just been confirmed to happen.

After weeks of speculation, Stan Lee has confirmed that he will be making a special appearance on the hit ABC show. At the time, Lee, who is also an executive producer on the freshman show, has not reveal what character he will be portraying in the show but he does hint that it’s a “big role.”

Lee has become the “Where’s Waldo” of Marvel films always having roles in the films that range from a decent sized dialogue to blink-and-you-miss-it roles. The episode will most likely air on February 4th, so that would be something to keep your eyes out for.

But don’t look for Lee to be slowing down anytime soon. The comic book icon will be taking on his first starring role in an animated film titled, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 which is set to premiere on the Hub Network at 8 p.m. February 1st. The film follows Lee who mentors a group of superheros while writing about his adventure into comic books; just the same old, same old.

As for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the freshman series returns to its 8PM time slot on ABC tonight after a month-long Winter hiatus.

‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ Trailer

Since Once Upon A Time creators announced that they will be creating a spin-off the hit fairy tale inspired television show, fans of the original series, have been a little bit on the fence about how to feel about this new series.

For some, the though of another Alice in Wonderland thing would be a little bit too much, especially since the Mad Hatter would probably not be in the series (Sebastian Stan plays Jefferson in the original series and since his time on the show, he has been gaining movie roles left and right, currently, Captain America 2).

During their Comic-Con panel, creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, released the first official trailer, giving the audience the chance to finally see what the premise of the new series would be. Spoiler, if it wasn’t for some key character names and a few references to Wonderland, you would think it was a completely different show.

Watch the trailer for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland below:

So what do we think Oncers, would you be giving this show a chance? Personally, I’m a little intrigued since it was just announced that Lost star, Naveen Andrew will be playing Aladdin villain, Jafar in the series and Aladdin is my favorite movie.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland premieres Thursday, October. 10 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
