‘Here We Go Again’: Cher to hit the road in early 2019

If you ever thought Cher was going to retire from the music world and touring then apparently you don’t understand the iconic singer very well. On Friday (Sept. 7), the legendary performer unveiled plans to hit the touring circuit during the months of January, February, April, and May of 2019 in support of her ABBA covers album, Dancing Queen. Dubbed the Here We Go Again Tour —a direct lyric from “Mamma Mia”— the early 2019 tour will begin on Jan. 17, 2019 at the Germain Arena in Fort Myers, Florida and conclude May 18, 2019 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Tickets for the upcoming shows will go on sale beginning next Friday, Sept. 14.

The surprise tour announcement was made during Cher’s appearance on The Ellen Show earlier in the day. Before announcing the massive tour itinerary, Cher performed her cover of ABBA’s 1975 hit song, “SOS.”

The tour will be in support of the songstress’ forthcoming album, Dancing Queen. Dancing Queen is due out Sept. 28 through Warner Bros. Records. Pre-orders for the record are currently available here.

The announcement comes months after Cher co-starred in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again as the mother of Meryl Streep’s character Donna and the grandmother of Amanda Seyfried’s character Sophie. During the press tour for the film, Cher revealed she had an ABBA covers album in the works.

The 30-stop tour will be Cher’s first tour in almost five years. Cher’s last official United States tour was her Dressed to Kill run which took place in 2014 and 2015. That excursion followed the “Believe” singer’s Living Proof: The Farewell Tour which took place in 2002. The complete itinerary for the Here We Go Again Tour can be seen below.
