A Day to Remember drop new single, sign to Fueled By Ramen

It’s been a heck of a week for A Day to Remember, and the week has just started. On Tuesday (Aug. 20), the Florida-founded band unleashed a brand new song. Titled “Degenerate,” the song marks the second new tune they’ve released in 2019 (in June, they joined forces with Marshmello for their EDM/pop/rock mashup, “Rescue Me“).

While the new song made its worldwide debut during the early morning hours, A Day to Remember performed the song for the first time last night at their show in the Netherlands.

“This is a secret. We’re going to put out a brand new song tomorrow,” frontman Jeremy McKinnon tells an excited audience in a fan-shot video.

“[And] this absolutely against everything that we built this band to be because we used to go to show like this and when bands would play new songs we’d be ‘get to it buddy.’ I don’t know why, but if it’s cool with you, we’d like to play it for you. Is that cool?”

As it turns out, the new song was just the beginning for A Day to Remember. In a discreet blink-and-you’ll-miss-it move, the five-piece announced that they have joined the Fueled By Ramen family. The five-piece join Panic! at the Disco, All Time Low, Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots, and more on the record label’s roster.

All this good news comes a few days before the band is set to take the main stage at Reading and Leeds in the United Kingdom. After headlining the weekend-long event, the group will return to the United States for the inaugural Self Help Fest Massachusetts which will take place on Sept. 7 at the Palladium in Worcester.

Following a handful of music festival gigs, the Ocala-founded act will kick off their “Degenerates” tour with I Prevail and Beartooth.
