Blink-182’s California deluxe edition is a set to drop in a couple of weeks, but that’s not stopping the trio from treating fans to another new song from it. On Thursday (April 28), the California boys unleashed their fourth new song off the re-issue. The new track is titled “6/8” and yes, it is a direct reference to the song’s time signature. According to a post on Blink’s official Twitter, the new track is not only the strangest song they’re ever recorded, they also unanimously admit that it happens to be one of their favorites because of the aggression behind it. Listen to “6/8” above.
“6/8” will join “Misery,” “Parking Lot,” and the recently released “Can’t Get You More Pregnant” on the upcoming re-release. The deluxe edition of California is set to be released on May 19 through BMG. The deluxe version of the album will not only include all 16 tracks featured on the original album, but also an acoustic version of “Bored to Death” and 11 new tracks.
Pre-orders for the deluxe edition of California are currently available on Blink-182’s website here. Those who pre-order the album ahead of time will be given downloads of “Parking Lot,” “Misery,” “Can’t Get You More Pregnant,” and “6/8.”
In support of the re-issue, Blink-182 announced a massive tour schedule back in February. Currently, the group are in the final weeks of the tour. Last night, they invaded the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee while their next show will take place on Tuesday, May 2, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida. The remaining tour dates can be found here.
