Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, and PVRIS to embark on summer tour

Last month, Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars were confirmed to headline not one, but two major music festivals; Bunbury in Cincinnati, Ohio and Firefly in Dover, Delaware. Now, fans of both bands have been advised that the two music festivals were just the beginning of a major spring and summer tour. On Monday (Feb. 6), both bands unveiled that they will be hitting the road beginning this May for a four-month excursion.

The joint tour will kick off on May 20 at the Perfect Vodka Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida and wrap up four months later on Sept. 20 at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City. Hitting the road alongside Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars for the full journey will be Massachusetts-based band, PVRIS. With the exception of a couple of tour stops, the trio will open every single night of the tour.

Pre-sales tickets will become available beginning this Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m., local time. Once the pre-sales wrap up, general ticket will begin on Friday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. local time. Currently, there are a slew of vacant dates on the tour itinerary, but no word on if new dates will be added in the near future.

Muse released their seventh studio album, Drones, back in June of 2015 and followed it up with several massive tours in support of the album. There has been no word on whether the trio has been working on new material during their tour breaks. Unlike Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars has teased the possibility of a new album in 2017. Last August, they released a 39-second clip which featured what fans assumed to be a snippet of a new song and a sign that read “COMING 2017.” For now, check out the complete list of upcoming tour dates below.

Thirty Seconds to Mars unleash short teaser clip

While most of the country is preparing to see Jared Leto take on the iconic role of The Joker in Suicide Squad (out this Friday, Aug. 5), it appears that the actor is ready to take on another project. On Monday (Aug. 1), a video was posted on Leto’s band (with brother Shannon Leto and guitarist Tomo Miličević) Thirty Seconds to Mars’ Twitter, beginning the chatter of fans and speculations of new music. The clip, which comes in at 38 seconds, finds the group in what appears to be the desert.

The first half of the video features footage of them rock climbing, driving around in the desert (while giving the middle finger to the others), and hanging around a bonfire. The footage quickly shifts to the guys inside of a house getting down to some serious musical business. The video wraps up with a warped vinyl on what may be the desert sand before going black. As soon as the screen goes black, the band’s triangle symbol appears and is quickly replaced by Interscope Records’ logo (blink and you might miss it). The video then comes to a complete end with the text “COMING 2017” appearing on the screen.

Watch the teaser clip below.

While the band is leaving the video open-ended, the main speculation is that some new 30STM music will be released some time in 2017. Back in November of 2015, Leto posted an image on Instagram of himself in front of a microphone. Recently, Rolling Stone wrote a profile on Leto in which they followed the singer into the studio where he was in the process of recording some new tunes.

Whatever the outcomes is, we know that the Echelon will be excited. Thirty Seconds to Mars’ last studio album was 2013’s Love, lust, Faith and Dreams.

Thirty Seconds to Mars Tease New Music

Thirty Seconds to Mars seems to have been put on the backburner for a while as frontman Jared Leto got into serious character as The Joker for his upcoming role in the highly anticipated 2016 film, Suicide Squad. Now that filming for the movie has wrapped and promotional events for it seem to be minimal, it looks like its time for Leto, his bother Shannon, and guitarist Tomo Miličević to get back to music.

On Tuesday (Nov. 3), the frontman posted a picture of himself in a recording booth on Instagram. Under the image was a simple caption which read “#MarsIsComing”; great news for those 30STM fans who have been silently waiting for some new music from the group. Leto’s Instagram post from the studio can be seen below.

In addition to the new music tease, 30STM revealed earlier this week that they will once again sponsor “Camp Mars” after its successful launch this past summer. For those not familiar with “Camp Mars,” fans of the band also known as the Echelon, were given the chance to head to Malibu at the end of August experience summer camping with a twist.

The inaugural three-day event included summer camp activities such as hiking, climbing, yoga, cooking classes, raising the flag, and camp fire sing-a-longs. Thirty Seconds to Mars also performed two shows and had numerous DJ sets during the weekend to keep the fun going. Not too bad of a way to wrap up the summer.

The new music that Leto is teasing will be the first set to new music since the group’s 2013 release, LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS. Following the release of the album, the band headed out on tour, proving that the Leto brothers and Miličević, never sleep.

30 Seconds to Mars to Launch ‘Camp Mars’

Echelon members, it’s time to pack your overnight bags with sunscreen and bug spray because we’re going to Camp Mars!

After a day of hints and teases, Thirty Seconds to Mars have announced they will be launching their own three-day summer camp experience this August.

The experience has been named “Camp Mars” and will take place during the weekend of August 22-24 in Malibu, CA. Attendees will get the opportunity to participate in “hiking, climbing, yoga, cooking classes, raising the flag and camp fire sing-a-longs,” according to a statement released by the band.

In addition to all the summer camp-centric activities that will be offered, the band will also hold two performances during the weekend as well as numerous DJ sets to keep the fun going.

“We have always looked to do things for our audience that are fun and unique,” frontman Jared Leto told Rolling Stone about the summer camp.

“What better way to celebrate the summer than in beautiful Southern California with the Mars family in full.”

Packages for Camp Mars will be sold through Adventures in Wonderland and will officially go on sale beginning this Friday, June 19, beginning at 9 a.m. PST.

Watch the band’s video announcement for Camp Mars below, and if you have any questions whatsoever about the summer camp and the activities, the band have also give potential attendees the people to contact regarding questions and concerns.

Jared Leto Covers “Stay the Night”

Jared Leto is by far one of the most talented people out there being able to do almost everything, and do it particularly well. Acting, music, humanitarian, we’re almost blushing at how much we sound like fan-girls writing this. (He’s also really pretty and has great hair.)

Today, video surfaced of the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman covering Zedd’s song “Stay the Night.” The video features Leto performing a piano-led rendition of the Top 100 radio hit.

The stripped down version of the song is a complete departure from the original as it does not have any of that electronic dance music, over-produced sound and of course there is that little issue of Leto singing the lyrics rather than Paramore frontwoman, Hayley Williams.

Give the cover of the song a listen and let us know which version of the song you like best: the original or the cover?

Jared Leto Rumored to Play Doctor Strange?

When Marvel has revealed plans to turn Doctor Strange into one of their upcoming films, the first actor that was rumored to be taking on the role of the neurosurgeon turned superhero, was Johnny Depp.

Though for some, the choice of actor for some was spot on (there was even a comparison photo of Depp and Strange so that nay-sayers could see the similarities) the casting fell through since it was nothing more than a major rumor.

Another rumor has now risen from the rubble of the previous one with a certain lead singer/actor being in talks to play the role.
And just who might that person be?

Well, recent award-winning golden boy, or like we know him as 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, Jared Leto, according to Badass Digest.

The blog also goes on to reveal that Marvel is about to close a deal with Scott Derrickson, the director behind The Day the Earth Stood Still remake as well as Sinister.

The post goes on to point out that Derrickson might want to take a swing at writing the script himself since at the time that the Variety story was published, revealing Derrickson as the front-runner for the position, no writer had been named.

Then there’s the whole point of this story, the rumor that Jared Leto is now in the running to play Stephen Strange. Apparently, Marvel like or liked Leto for the role.

Badass Digest makes it known with their “god help us all if that’s true” remark that they are against the decision of having Leto portray the superhero, but let’s be real, the entire world was on the hating side of Ben Affleck being cast as Batman (Batfleck) without even giving it the benefit of the doubt (or even waiting for the damn film to be released), so even if it’s true or not, who cares. We’ll wait for the film to come out to judge.

But on the other hand, some of us here are bias since we are huge 30 Seconds to Mars fans.
