Rocklahoma Unveil 2016 Lineup

The unveiling for the “World’s Loudest Month” festival series continues. On Monday (Jan. 11), the lineup for the Oklahoma-based music festival, Rocklahoma, was announced. Like its companion festivals, Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville and Ft. Myers’ Fort Rock, the weekend-long event will feature performances from acts like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, 3 Doors Down, SIXX: AM, and many more. The 2016 incarnation of the festival marks the event’s tenth anniversary which means it’s going to be something special, at least according to those behind the annual event.

“Celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Rocklahoma is something that is incredibly special for all of us involved with the festival, and we tried to have something for everyone with this year’s lineup,” explains Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of Rocklahoma for AEG Live. “We’ve got some incredible first-timers like Scorpions, Disturbed, Last In Line, and Collective Soul. Some fan favorites returning like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, and Steel Panther, and as a nod to the inaugural festival in 2007, we even have a few from that first Rocklahoma with Sebastian Bach, Great White, and Bang Tango. It’s going to be an unforgettable anniversary party!”

The three-day festival will invade Pryor, OK during Memorial Weekend, so expect a lot of partying. As always, the festival will include the option to camp at the grounds which comes with perks like the campground stage hosting performances during the Thursday night campground party as well as parties in the afternoon and late night hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Currently, special priced general admission and reserved tickets are available on Rocklahoma’s website. The specially priced tickets will be available until next Monday, Jan. 18 at noon CST. After that time, the general public sales will begin. Rocklahoma will return to their stomping grounds of the Catch the Fever  Festival Grounds in Pryor during the weekend of May 27-29.

Robert Todd Harrell, bassist for 3 Doors Down has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after being involved in an accident that caused the death of another person.

A police statement released said that Harrell had been driving at a high rate of speed in a Nashville suburb when he clipped a pick-up truck driven by the victim,  47-year-old Paul Howard Shoulders Jr. The pickup then went out of control, struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned. At the time, Shoulders was not wearing his seat belt which resulted in him being ejected from the truck.

Harrell’s car hit a retaining wall and stopped about a quarter-mile away from the crash site. When police arrived on the scene, they noted that he showed signs of impairment when he underwent field sobriety tasks and even acknowledged that he had consumed hard cider and had taken prescription Lortab and Xanax.

Once taken into jail, he was also charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail when it was discovered that he had a plastic bag concealed in his sock with eight Xanax pills, 24 Oxycodone pills and four Oxymorphone pills during a search at the booking room.

While Harrell is still holed up in the Nashville jail despite a $100,000 bond, his band released the following statement on their website: ““We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
