The announcement was made Monday (Dec. 13) morning by Snoop Dogg live from the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

This will be the first time that the Golden Globes will not be broadcast live. Due to a behind-the-scenes racial controversy at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) last year (and its damning report), the awards show’s broadcast partner (NBC) dropped the show from its schedule (can you say yikes?).

According to an official press release by the HFPA, “The HFPA will recognize the best in film and television on Sunday, January 9, 2022.”

Um…okay. We guess we’ll see about that.

The real questions here are “does anyone really care about the Golden Globes?” “Do we really need some rich people telling us what’s the best thing to watch in today’s day and age?” and “will anyone actually care enough to tune in?”

DC Fandome event unveils slew of new teasers

Weren’t able to make it to the first (and probably annual) DC Fandome event? Well, there’s no need to worry because we have the trailer for some of the biggest films the DC Universe is slated to release within the next couple of years.

Yup. That includes the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984”, the Zack Snyder cut of “Justice League,” the sequel to the lukewarmly received “Suicide Squad” which includes a heck of a cast, and the much-anticipated first-look at Robert Pattinson as a dark and emo-looking Batman in the upcoming “The Batman” film.

Are you ready? Well, here we go:

“Wonder Woman 1984”:

“Justice League (Zack Snyder Cut)” (coming to an HBO Max near you in four, one-hour installments):

“Suicide Squad 2” (and it’s insane cast listing):

And now, for the dark and moody “Year Two” inspired “The Batman.”

While it was mostly films at the head of the table, the first trailer for the upcoming seventh season of the CW’s “The Flash” series was also unleashed.

DC Fandome will once again go live on Sept. 12, where they will focus more on their television series. Titled “DC Fandome: Explore the Multiverse,” the virtual event will begin at 10 a.m. PST.

Weezer ‘Face the Music’ in their music video for ‘Beginning of the End’

Ready to get your weekend off to an “excellent” start? Well, Weezer is here to help you out with that.

On Friday (Aug. 14), the California-founded band unleashed their contribution to the upcoming Bill and Ted film. Titled “Beginning of the End,” Weezer not only gave fans the song, but also the accompanying music video.

The four-minute clip begins with the quartet inside of a garage, playing the song like any unknown band with a garage would do.

As the video continues, the viewer not only watches Weezer perform the song (with a wind machine mind you), they also get some new (and previously released) footage from the upcoming Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter-starring flick.

By the end of the four minutes, each member of Weezer is sporting some over-the-top attires that pretty much personify the most significant genres in music when the first Bill and Ted film was released.

Keep an eye out for a special guest appearance.

Watch the music video for “Beginning of the End” above.

“Bill & Ted Face the Music,” and its soundtrack is due out Friday, Aug. 28. The much-anticipated follow-up to the hit franchise will be available both On-Demand and in select theaters.

As for Weezer, their new album Van Weezer has been pushed back until 2021. Their 14th studio album is due out May 2021, right before the group embarks on the massive Hella Mega summer tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and The Interrupters. The rescheduled tour dates can be found here.

Want to be in ‘The Room Where It Happens’? The ‘Hamilton’ movie will do just that

Remember when Lin-Manuel Miranda told us to “Wait for It” because his “Hamilton” news was going to “Blow Us All Away“?

Well, guys. He was right.

On Monday (Feb. 3), the Jack-of-All-Trades announced that the “Hamilton” film was, in fact, happening in conjunction with Disney and gave us all an official release date.

“Disney presents: Hamilton. With the original Broadway cast. Filmed on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. In a theater near you. October 15, 2021,” Miranda posted on social media.

But before you assume that this just going to be Hollywood’s take on the Tony-Award winning show, you will be wrong.

As per Miranda and a press release for the upcoming flick states, “This movie transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way. Combining the best elements of live theater and film, the result is a cinematic stage performance that is a wholly new way to experience Hamilton.”

Filmed right before the original cast left the production, this will give fans the chance to see the original actors “One Last Time.”

The original cast of “Hamilton” featured Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, Jonathan Groff, Phillipa Soo, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Okieriete Onaodowan, and Anthony Ramos.

Odom, Jr., Diggs, and Goldsberry all won Tony Awards for their performances in the show.

Last month during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival, Miranda was once again asked about the musical making its way to the big screen. He teased that it will invade theaters “hopefully sooner than later.”

And he was right.

In case you didn’t read everything above and are thinking “What’d I Miss?,” “Disney Presents: Hamilton” is due out Oct. 15, 2021.

‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Love You’ to get the soundtrack treatment

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means the sequel to Netflix’s hit movie “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” is going to squeeze our hearts like a grape. But watching Lara Jean’s love story progress (and meet some obstacles) isn’t the only gift we’re getting for the love-centric holiday.

On Wednesday (Jan. 29), Netflix, in conjunction with Capitol Records, Awesomeness Films, and Ace Entertainment, announced plans to unleash a soundtrack for “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You.”

This will be the first official soundtrack for the book-turned-film franchise. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” did not get a soundtrack when the original movie was released in 2018, but there seems to be a playlist floating around Spotify.

The 15-track album will include new tracks from Sofi Tukker, Hey Violet, Marina, CYN, OTR, Bad Child, The New Respects, and more.

The forthcoming soundtrack is due out Feb. 7 through Capitol Records. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You” is due out a few days later on Feb. 12, just in time for you to gather all your girlfriends and celebrate Galentine’s Day.

The CD version of the soundtrack is due out April 17, while a vinyl version of the record will be released on May 22.

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You” follows Lara Jean and Peter as they make their relationship “officially official,” but like real life, some obstacles appear when another recipient of one of her old love letters enters the picture. Watch the recently released trailer for the film above.

01. CYN – “I Can’t Believe”
02. Cayetana – “Age Of Consent”
03. Marina – “About Love”
04. ILLENIUM – “Crashing (feat Bahari)”

Doja Cat channels her inner Harley Quinn in her ‘Birds of Prey’ contribution

We all know Harley Quinn is a ‘boss bitch.’

Just look at all the different versions we’ve been given over the past couple of decades. So, should we be surprised that someone made a song celebrating her awesomeness?

The answer is no.

On Friday (Jan. 24), Atlantic Records released another new song from the upcoming Birds of Prey soundtrack. This week, the honor went to Doja Cat and her song “Boss Bitch,” which celebrates just that, being a powerful woman who does what she wants with a devil-may-care attitude.

To coincide with the audio’s release, the rapper and the record label released its accompanying music video. The barely three-minute clip feature never-before-seen footage from the Harley Quinn-centric flick as well as footage of Doja Cat channeling everyone’s favorite spunky anti-hero.

The music video manages to mesh both the film’s footage and clips that were probably recorded at a later time seamlessly that makes you almost feel like you’ll see Doja Cat make a cameo in the actual movie.

Watch the Jack Begert-directed clip above.

“Boss Bitch” is the third single off Birds of Prey: The Album.

“Boss Bitch” joins previously released tunes “Diamonds” from Megan thee Stallion and Normani and “Joke’s on You” from Charlotte Lawrence on the soundtrack.

More songs from the album will be released in the upcoming weeks leading to the debut of the film.

Birds of Prey: The Album is due out Feb. 7. Pre-orders for the record are available here.

Birds of Prey: The Album was executive produced by Harley Quinn herself Margot Robbie, the film’s director Cathy Yan, Sue Kroll, and Bryan Unkeless.

Birds of Prey: The Album will feature a “badass girl gang” of musicians including Halsey, Sofi Tukker, Summer Walker, Lauren Jauregui, and Jurnee Smollett-Bell who portrays Black Canary in the film.

Marvel teases Taskmaster’s introduction in the latest ‘Black Widow’ teaser

When Natasha Romanoff was killed off in “Avengers: Endgame,” the fury fans unleashed was immense, to say the least.

One thing that kept them from burning down the house (of mouse) was the fact that we would be getting a standalone Black Widow movie in 2020.

On Monday night (Jan. 13), Marvel Studios unleashed a new trailer for the forthcoming release, though it does use a lot of previously seen footage. From the second the trailer begins, you can feel the action spy-thriller vibes from the minute-and-a-half clip.

The sneak-peek begins with everyone’s favorite secret agent assassin (Scarlett Johansson) meeting up with her un-biological sister Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). During their meet up, Natasha tells Yelena that she’s on the run after “trying to do something good” (a callback to the fact that this film is supposed to take place after the events in “Captain America: Civil War” but before “Avengers: Infinity War”).

The action goes into overdrive after we get reacquainted with the rest of Natasha’s family members Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz). We are introduced to the new generation of Black Widows who seem to be just as deadly as Natasha, Yelena, and Melina, and yes, we get to finally see the Taskmaster in all his glory take on the Red Guardian.

Check out the latest trailer for “Black Widow” above.

“Black Widow” kicks its way into theaters on May 1.

Jared Leto brings Morbius to life in the first trailer for the upcoming blockbuster

Remember when actor Tyrese Gibson took to social media to announce that the first “Morbius” trailer would see the light of day on this dreary Monday?

Could it have been just yesterday that the actor set the Twitter-sphere aflame with the revelation?

Well, yeah, it was. And now it looks like Sony may have another Tom Holland on their hands though we doubt Gibson would care.

On Monday (Jan. 13), the studio that “brought you Spider-Man and Venom” (as it boasts in the trailer) and “in association with Marvel” unleashed the first official trailer for the upcoming flick.

The two-and-a-half-minute clip introduces the viewer to Dr. Michael Morbius, who was born with a rare blood disease that should have killed him, but somehow, he’s managed to persevere. Instead of letting the condition consume him, he decides to take matters into his own hands to help people with the little time he has left.

And thus begins his tale of becoming a living vampire.

Check out the full trailer above, which features several Spider-Man easter eggs and a special cameo at the end.

Is it possible that we may finally get that long-promised Sinister Six film? Only Sony, “in association with Marvel,” knows.

“Morbius” hits theaters July 31.

‘Birds of Prey’ soundtrack features a ‘badass girl gang’ lineup

The Birds of Prey are ready to kick ass and take names and not just on the big screen.

On Friday (Jan. 10), Atlantic Records announced the title, release date, and tracklisting for the “Birds of Prey” soundtrack. Titled Birds of Prey: The Album, the 15-track collection, is due out Feb. 7.

The compilation features a “badass girl gang” of musicians including Halsey, Sofi Tukker, Charlotte Lawrence, Summer Walker, Lauren Jauregui, and Black Canary herself Jurnee Smollett-Bell performing an original song as her character in the film.

According to a press statement, the record and film “will be celebrated with a massive rollout leading up to the soundtrack and film’s arrival on February 7th, including exclusive new singles and mind-blowing music videos.”

In keeping up with that promise, the record label unleashed the first official single from the album, “Diamonds.” The track is performed by former Fifth Harmony member Normani and “Hot Girl Summer” mastermind Megan Thee Stallion (and yes, it is a take on Marilyn Monroe’s iconic song “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” from “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”).

Watch the music video for “Diamonds” above.

Birds of Prey: The Album was executive produced by Harley Quinn herself Margot Robbie, the film’s director Cathy Yan, Sue Kroll, and Bryan Unkeless. Pre-orders for the record are currently available for purchase here.

Like the soundtrack, “Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is due out on Feb. 7. On Thursday, the second official trailer for the upcoming flick was released. That can be found here.
