Dashboard Confessional announces slew of intimate tour dates for 2020

Dashboard Confessional is hitting the road next year to celebrate the act’s China anniversary.

On Monday (Sept. 16), the Florida-founded band announced plans to embark on a spring 2020 tour to honor their 20th anniversary. Dubbed the “Celebrating 20 Years of Dashboard Confessional” tour (yes, we know it’s quite a mouthful), the outing will find the group performing at venues across the United States during February and March.

The month-and-a-half outing will include stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Detroit, and more. The upcoming tour begins on Feb. 4 at the House of Blues in Dallas and concludes on March 28 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

The tour will include several two-night engagements, allowing them to perform some of their classic albums in full.

The Get Up Kids and Piebald will join Dashboard Confessional on select dates.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, Sept. 20, at 9 a.m. local time.

To coincide with the upcoming tour announcement, Dashboard Confessional also announced the pending release of their greatest hits album. Titled The Best Ones of the Best Ones (yes, a direct lyric from 2006’s “Stolen”), the compilation is due out Jan. 31, 2020. The record will include some of the group’s biggest hits such as “Screaming Infidelities,” “Hands Down,” “The Swiss Army Romance,” some newer tracks like “Heart Beat Here,” and yes, the Sam Raimi “Spider-Man” song “Vindicated.”

The announcements come after the group wiped their social media pages, leaving only a video of frontman Chris Carrabba singing “Screaming Infidelities” circa 2000 and a faux AOL messenger screen with a caption reading “BRB! #DC20.”
