Avril Lavigne plots ‘Head Above Water’ fall tour

After being away from the touring circuit for the past five years, it looks like Avril Lavigne is ready to get back out there and rock the stage.

On Monday (June 24), the Canadian singer announced plans to embark on a short tour in the fall. Dubbed the Head Above Water tour, the excursion will find the musician performing at venues across the continent throughout September and October.

The 15-stop trek will include gigs in Portland, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, New York, Boston, and more. The tour begins on Sept. 14 at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle and concludes a month later on Oct. 11 at the XCite Center at Parx Casino in Philadelphia.

One of the biggest surprises to come from the tour itinerary is the lack of Canadian stops. The tour features only one show in Canada on Oct. 6 at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts in Toronto.

Artist pre-sales begin this Tuesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales begin this Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. local time.

“Happy to announce the Head Above Water Tour bitches!!!” Lavigne tweeted alongside a video where she formally announced the forthcoming outing.

The tour is in support of Lavigne’s recently released record Head Above Water. The record, her sixth studio effort, was released in February. The 12-track album has produced four singles “Head Above Water,” “Tell Me It’s Over,” “I Fell in Love with the Devil,” and “Dumb Blonde” featuring Nicki Minaj.
