Cardi B is back and ready to take aim at the press. On Friday (May 31), the New York-born MC unleashed her new track “Press.” The song comes days after the musician began teasing fans about it online. The song finds Cardi boasting about her riches, but also taking aim at the press, specifically those bloggers who publish false stories about her “for the clicks.”
With lyrics like “Press, press, press, press, press / Cardi don’t need more press” and “Kill ’em all, put them hoes to rest / Walk in, bulletproof vest / Please tell me who she goin’ check? / Murder scene, Cardi made a mess,” it’s evident that Cardi has had enough with all the lies making headlines.

“Press” is currently available for purchase on all streaming services. The track was produced by Slade Da Monsta with additional production by Key Wane For the Win.
The new tune comes days after the rapper revealed plans to release a new track before the week’s end. “Press” is the follow-up to her platinum-certified track “Please Me,” her second collaboration with label mate Bruno Mars.
No word on whether the tracks are standalone singles or part of the high-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. Cardi previously revealed that she has plans to release a new album in spring 2019, but the projected release date has since passed.
“Of course it’s gonna be an album in 2019,” she said. “Hopefully, I could get my album done around the same time that Invasion of Privacy came out, but I don’t know how possible that’s gonna be because I feel like I’m going to be extremely, extremely busy.”
Earlier this month, Cardi earned a total of six Billboard Music Awards at the annual event. The rapper was nominated for 21 awards, missing the record-breaking total of 22 set by the Chainsmokers and Drake in 2017.
