Happy Dedicated release day to all you Carly Rae Jepsen fans out there! In honor of her fourth studio album’s release, the Canadian singer has shared the music video for one of the album’s tracks, “Too Much.”
The three-and-a-half minute clip begins with Jepsen playing with a keyboard, giving the song it’s very electronic sound. Decked out in her now-iconic platinum bob, white crop top, and dark pants, the singer is soon joined by a group of women who are sporting the same exact attire. As she moves around the set, she is closely followed by her legion of clones.
Following a food fight where some defenseless cupcakes began victims, the clones surround Jepsen with mirrors. The clones assault her on all sides forcing her to take a good look at herself in the mirrors. Maybe this is a metaphor for Jepsen coming to terms with who she is or perhaps it’s just a cool shot.

“Too Much” joins previously released singles “Julien,” “Now That I Found You,” “No Drug Like Me,” and “Party of One” on Dedicated. In a recent interview with Billboard, Jepsen revealed that she ended up writing 200 songs for the new album and somehow had to whittle it down to 15 tracks. Though a lot of songs were leftover, the singer reveals she may put them on a streaming service or release them in the form of a B-sides album like E•MO•TION: Side B.
“It doesn’t feel like only 15 songs get to be out there. I’ve been hibernating and holding onto my babies, but through B-sides or other avenues I’m excited to share a lot of them,” she tells the publication. Read Jepsen’s full interview here.
Dedicated is the follow-up to Jepsen’s 2015 smash hit, E•MO•TION.
In early April, Jepsen announced plans to embark on a 30-stop tour later this year. The Dedicated tour begins June 27 at the House of Blues in Anaheim and concludes on Aug. 10 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. The full list of tour dates can be found here.
