It looks like Motionless in White is ready to bring us Halloween in May with their new music video. On Friday (May 10), the Pennsylvania-founded act released another song from their impending new album. Dubbed “Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Rider,” the title is a callback to the band’s debut album Creatures which included a song titled “Undead Ahead.”
The visual for the four-and-a-half-minute clip takes inspiration directly from one of Halloween’s most popular stories, the Headless Horseman. The animated clip begins with an animated couple getting it on when they hear a noise. When the man looks up, he notices a figure on top of a hill looking down at them. Seated on top of his stallion is the Headless Horseman watching them.
Like the story, the Headless Horseman attacks the couple and kills the man, though we don’t actually see the decapitation happen, just the animated ax covered in animated blood. From there, the rest of the clip features the same footage on a loop. Watch the animated visual for “Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Rider” above.
“Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Rider” joins previously released tracks “Brand New Numb” and “Disguise” on the band’s forthcoming album. Disguise is due out June 7 via Roadrunner Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available for purchase.
In support of the new album, Motionless in White previously announced plans to embark on a summer tour with Alice Cooper and Halestorm. The summertime outing begins on July 17 at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania and concludes a month later on Aug. 16 at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey.
