Frank Iero and the Future Violents add west coast shows

If you live on the west coast and thought you weren’t going to get the chance to see Frank Iero and the Future Violents on tour, then today is your lucky day. On Friday (April 19), the former My Chemical Romance guitarist and his new band announced new tour dates for later this summer.

The new stops will find the group performing at venues on the west coast from late-July through mid-August. The second leg of their headlining tour begins on July 23 at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland and concludes a few weeks later on Aug. 10 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

Last month, the group unveiled their first set of headlining tour dates for the summer months. The first part of the summer jaunt begins on May 29 at the Foundry in Philadelphia and concludes a month later on June 22 at Rock Off Cruise in New York.

The band also confirmed that Reggie and the Full Effect will open for them during the east coast shows while Geoff Rickly of Thursday will take over the supporting act position during the west coast stops of the tour.

In between both legs of the tour, the group will appear at several music festivals. Those shows include the Atlantic City edition of the Vans Warped Tour (June 29), Rock for People in Czechia (July 5), 2000 Trees in the United Kingdom (July 13), Great South Bay Music Festival in New York (July 18), and the California stop of the Vans Warped Tour (July 21).

The new shows are in support of the group’s upcoming studio album. Barriers is due out May 31 through UNFD. Pre-orders for the new record can be found here. Barriers was recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago and is the follow-up to Iero’s 2016 release, Parachutes.

Iero and company are currently on the road with Taking Back Sunday for the latter’s Twenty tour dates.
