The Black Keys are about to take their surprise new song on the road later this year. On Thursday (March 13), the Nashville-based band announced plans to embark on a massive North American tour in the fall.
Dubbed the “Let’s Rock” tour, the trek will find the group performing at venues across the continent throughout September, October, and November. The 31-stop jaunt includes shows in Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Nashville, Toronto, Boston, Orlando, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Portland, and more.
The upcoming excursion begins on Sept. 21 at the Life is Beautiful music festival in Las Vegas and concludes two months later on Nov. 24 at the Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
Modest Mouse will open for the Black Key throughout the full excursion while support will come from Shannon and the Clams, Repeat Repeat, and Jessy Wilson on select dates.
Tickets for the “Let’s Rock” tour go on sale next Friday, March 22, with pre-sale available on March 1 for Citi Cardmembers and Ticketmaster Verified Fans.
Last week, the Black Keys surprised fans with their first new single in five years, “Lo/Hi.” The band has not confirmed whether “Lo/Hi” is a standalone single or the first track off the long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s Turn Blue.
Since the album’s release, the Black Keys, as a group have been quiet. Individually though, vocalist Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have been busy.
Auerbach released several albums during that period including his solo record, Waiting on a Song. Carney, on the other hand, has kept busy by producing music for several artists and even wrote the theme song for Adult Swim’s BoJack Horseman.
