All Time Low may be taking a break and blink-182 may be in the process of recording their new studio album, but that doesn’t mean Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus are going to put their new joint venture to the side. On Tuesday (March 12), the duo announced plans to take their new supergroup, Simple Creatures, on the road for a handful of shows.
Centered around their six-song EP’s release date, the duo will perform four shows in the United States and one in England. The tour will include stops at the Belasco Ballroom in Los Angeles (March 28), the Midway in San Francisco (March 29), the Warehouse on Watts in Philadelphia (March 31), Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York (April 1), and the Hangar in London (April 3),
“Come dance with strangers to American made Trash-Pop™,” Hoppus and Gaskarth posted on the act’s official Instagram account.
Tickets for the United States dates go on sale this Wednesday, March 13, at 10 a.m. local time while the London date goes on sale this Friday, March 15, at 9 a.m. GMT.
The upcoming shows are in support of Simple Creatures’ debut EP, Strange Love. The record is due out on March 29 with pre-orders currently available on the band’s website. Previously released tracks “Drug” and the album’s title track “Strange Love” are featured on the forthcoming record.
In addition to the handful of intimate gigs, the group also confirmed that their first live gig will actually take place at this year’s Download Festival.
“Legit so excited for Download fest with @simplecreatures — first official gig on the books. It’s gonna be wild and weird and I’m so stoked to get this thing in front of you!!” Gaskarth posted on Twitter at the end of February.
Recently, Hoppus spoke with ALT 98.7 where he revealed that the group already has their first and second EP ready to go while any future music would really depend on All Time Low and blink-182’s schedules.
