Lana Del Rey confirms completion of new album, new single coming next week

It sounds like the release date for Lana Del Rey’s new studio album may be a lot closer than we were all led to believe. Over the weekend, the New York-born songstress took to Instagram to confirm that her sixth studio album was completed, meaning it’s only a matter of time before an official release date is given to the public.

In addition to the news that Norman Fucking Rockwell is ready to go, Del Rey also told fans to expect a new single next week. Titled “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it,” the new track is due out next Wednesday, Jan. 9 though Del Rey originally told her social media followers that it would be Jan. 8.

As if being busy with a new studio album wasn’t enough, Del Rey also confirmed the completion of her short book of poetry. The book, which was confirmed around the same time as her new album, had a working title of “Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass” though the musician has yet to confirm whether the title has remained.

“As of last week I finished short book of poetry I’ve been writing over the last 13 months that I’ll be putting out later,” she posted Instagram.

Norman Fucking Rockwell is the follow-up to 2017’s Lust for Life. To date, Del Rey has treated fans to a total of five new songs from the forthcoming release; “How to Disappear,” “Venice Bitch,” “Hey Blue Baby,” “I Must Be Stupid for Feeling So Happy,” and lead single “Mariners Apartment Complex.”

The record was produced by Bleachers head-honcho and super producer Jack Antonoff.
