Hugh Jackman announces ‘The Man. The Music. The Show.’ world tour details

Hugh Jackman promised big news earlier this week and now, he’s delivered. On Thursday (Nov. 29), the performer announced plans to embark on a massive, one-man world tour during the months of May, June, and July. Armed with a live orchestra and his voice, Jackman’s upcoming excursion will find him performing in Europe, the United States, New Zealand, and his home country of Australia during the summer months.

Dubbed “The Man. The Music. The Show.,” the event’s set list will include songs from his past films like “The Greatest Showman” and “Les Miserables” which earned Jackman Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for his performance as Jean Valjean in the 2012 film adaptation. The set list will also reportedly include some Broadway songs from productions like “Oklahoma!” and “The Boy from Oz” which earned the actor a Tony Award in 2004.

The first leg of the tour will find Jackman performing at venues across Europe with stops in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Manchester, and Dublin. The 12-stop jaunt will begin on May 13 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany and conclude with a two-night gig at the O2 Arena in London on June 2 and 3.

Following a couple of weeks off, Jackman will journey across the pond for the United States-centric leg of the tour. The 22-stop excursion will begin on June 18 at the Toyota Center in Houston and conclude with a double-night engagement at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on July 19 and 20.

Tickets for the newly announced tour will on sale beginning next Friday, Dec. 7, at 9 a.m. local time on Jackman’s website.

This is not the first time Jackman has performed his one-man act. The actor previously performed a similar show on Broadway and in Los Angeles where he raised money for the Motion Picture and Television Fund in 2013.

Though the tour will not kick off until mid-May, Jackman will give a short preview of the show with a two-song set at Rockefeller Center on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The performance will air live at 8 a.m. on the “TODAY” show as part of the show’s concert series.
