Coheed and Cambria announce North American trek for early 2019

Coheed and Cambria are ready to take their new album on the road next year! On Tuesday (Nov. 13), the New York-founded band announced plans to hit the touring circuit in early 2019. The headlining, United States-centric excursion will take place during the month of February with stops in Columbia, Charleston, Tallahassee, Houston, Knoxville, and more.

The trek will begin on Feb. 5 at the NorVa in Norfolk, Virginia and conclude a couple of weeks later on Feb. 28 at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, New York. Joining the band on the forthcoming tour will be Foxing and Maps & Atlases. Foxing will play the role of supporting act for Coheed from Feb. 5 to Feb. 20 while Maps & Atlases will replace them from Feb. 22 to Feb. 28.

VIP and pre-sale tickets are currently available while general ticket sales begin this Friday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. local time.

In addition to the newly announced tour dates, the four-piece also released the live music video for their song, “The Dark Sentencer.” Watch the clip above.

“The Dark Sentencer” is featured on Coheed’s recently released record, Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures. The album, the group’s ninth studio effort, was released in October, peaking at the number 14 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

The tour announcement comes a week after frontman Claudio Sanchez had fans in a frenzy thanks to a photo he uploaded online. Sanchez, who is well-known for his mound of crazy hair, posted an image on social media sans his iconic ‘fro. Fans were confused, taken aback, and a little freaked out, but it turned out to be a joke. Sanchez took to social media the following day to post another imagine showing that his iconic hair was still intact.
