Disney’s DCappella group to release debut album, embark on massive tour

If you’re a fan of Disney songs and the film “Pitch Perfect,” then you may want to add this upcoming tour to your list of things to do in 2019. On Tuesday (Oct. 16), Disney a cappella group DCappella announced their first-ever North American tour for early 2019. Set to take place during the months of January, February, and March, the upcoming trek will find the vocal group performing across the United States and Canada.

The 40-stop tour will include stops in Nashville, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, and Cincinnati. The act’s lengthy tour itinerary will begin on Jan. 22 at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida and conclude almost two months later on March 17 at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California. General ticket sales will begin this Friday, Oct. 19.

In addition to general tickets, the act is also offering a special “Friend Like Me” Meet and Greet Experience. The meet and greet package will include a chance to meet the members of DCappella, attend a sound check performance, participate in a Q&A session, and more. More information about the special meet and greet package can be found on DCappella’s website.

According to a press release, the tour will feature “a contemporary production of new Deke Sharon (“Pitch Perfect,” Straight No Chaser) arrangements of Disney classic and modern hits, bringing to life a truly unique a cappella experience.”

DCappella’s Live A Cappella Concert Experience will be in support of the group’s upcoming, self-titled debut album. The forthcoming record will include new version of some of Disney’s most iconic tunes including “Friend Like Me” from “Aladdin,” “How Far I’ll Go” from “Moana,” “I Wan’na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)” from the “Jungle Book,” “Remember Me” from “Coco,” and many more. The 13-track album is due out Nov. 16 through Walt Disney Records.
