Listen: Alkaline Trio drop ‘Demon and Division’

With just a few days left until the release of their long-awaited new album, Alkaline Trio just unveiled another new song from it. On Tuesday (Aug. 28), the California-founded band unleashed a third new song from their upcoming ninth studio album; a track titled “Demon and Division.” Listen to “Demon and Division” above.

“Demon and Division” will join “Blackbird” and the record’s title track “Is This Thing Cursed?” on the forthcoming record. Is This Thing Cursed? is due out Aug. 31 through Epitaph Records. Pre-orders for the album are still available on Alkaline Trio’s website which now includes pre-orders for a special vinyl due out Oct. 19.

Is This Thing Cursed? is the follow-up to the group’s last studio album, 2013’s My Shame is True.

In support of the new album’s release, the band just concluded the first leg of their North American tour itinerary. Following a month or so off where frontman Matt Skiba will re-join Blink-182 for a mini tour during the month of September, the band will jump-start the second leg of the tour on Oct. 4 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California. A few weeks alter, the tour will come to an end on Oct. 18 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California.

Garage rock outfit PANGEA will open for Alkaline Trio during both legs of the tour. For now, Alkaline Trio’s full tour itinerary can be found here.
