Listen: Alkaline Trio drop new song ‘Is This Thing Cursed?’

It’s been a couple of months since Alkaline Trio announced plans to release a brand new record later this month. With a few short weeks left until their ninth studio album is in the hands of fans, the band has released yet another new tune from the impending LP. On Tuesday (Aug. 7), the California-founded group debuted their forthcoming album’s second single, and title track, “Is This Thing Cursed?”

The barely-three-minute song begins slowly, giving the impression that it will be some kind of piano-driven ballad. About a minute into the song, the sound changes from the ballad format to the standard Alkaline Trio, pop-punk goodness fans have come to expect and love from the act.
