With a handful of days left before his massive summer tour is slated to begin, Charlie Puth has returned with the music video for his latest single. On Monday (July 9), the New York-based singer unleashed the music video for his fourth Voicenotes single, “The Way I Am.”
The three-minute music video features Puth in different areas of a house as a party goes on around him. As he sits in different rooms including the living room, bathroom, backyard, and even the roof, his eyes do not leave a girl at the party. The clip was directed by Colin Tilley whose resume includes Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna. Watch the music video for “The Way I Am” above.
“The Way I Am” is the first track on Puth’s recently released record, Voicenotes. The record was released in May and reached the number four spot on the Billboard 200 chart and the number two spot on Billboard‘s Top Albums chart. The album, which has only been out a couple of months, was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America only four days after its release.
In support of Voicenotes, Puth is set to hit the road this summer for the 17th annual Honda Civic Tour. Previously dubbed the Voicenotes tour, the excursion will find the singer, and supporting act Hailee Steinfeld, traveling and performing for fans across the continent. The tour will kick off this Friday, July 13, at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston and conclude on Sept. 1 at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Between his Honda Civic Tour engagements, Puth will perform the latest single live on a pair of high-profile national television shows. On Tuesday, July 17, the singer will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon while on Friday, July 20, he will perform live from Rockefeller Plaza in New York as part of this summer’s Citi Concert Series on TODAY.
