Watch Broadside celebrate their fans in ‘Summer Stained’

Just as they are about to kick off another tour, Broadside are back to give fans a little something. On Thursday (May 17), the Virginia-founded band released an emotional music video for their latest single “Summer Stained.” The almost-four-minute clip begins with a short snippet of footage from what looks to be the Vans Warped Tour. The seconds long clip is then rewound and the viewer finds themselves in a darkly lit room with frontman Ollie Baxxter sitting on a bed while guitarist Dorian Cooke sits nearby in a chair.

Behind both guys is a wall covered from top to bottom with photographs sent in by fans. The music video also features fan-shot footage of the band interacting with their fans and performing on stage. All in all, the video feels like a thank you from the band to their fans.

“With the progression of social media and everybody having a camera in their pocket, a lot of moments are captured but unseen,” begins a message from Baxxter about the music video.

“We always meet so many people on tour and being able to relive those encounters again without the fear of ‘I hope I’m more than just a photograph’ was really inspirational. The fact that thousands of photos poured in shows that people really care about us (as we do them). The love is more than appreciated.”

“‘Summer Stained’ is a reflection on the loneliness of giving all of yourself away in your music in hopes that you will fill the hole that is in your heart.” Watch the complete video for “Summer Stained” above.

“Summer Stained” is featured on Broadside’s sophomore album, Paradise. The record was released in June of 2017 and earned the number 17 spot on Billboard‘s Heatseekers Album chart and the number 47 spot on Billboard‘s Independent Album chart.

Broadside just began their springtime European tour with a show at Dynamo in Zürich. The European tour will feature stops in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The U.K. portion will also include the group’s appearance at all three days of the Slam Dunk Festival. After a month away from the road, Broadside will join the final Vans Warped Tour excursion in early July, riding it out until the traveling music festival’s final stop at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West palm Beach, Florida.
