Christina Aguilera to take ‘Liberation’ on the road in the fall

Christina Aguilera may have just let the world know that her new album will see a release date of June 15, but don’t expect the pop star to slow down any time soon. On Wednesday (May 9), the songstress confirmed plans to hit the road in support of the new record in the fall. Titled the Liberation tour, the upcoming excursion will be her first in more than a decade. The tour will find the “Beautiful” singer performing at venues across North America during the months of September, October, and November.

The Liberation tour will kick off on Sept. 25 at the Hard Rock Live Arena at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida and conclude a month and a half later on Nov. 13 at the Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 24-stop tour will also include stops in major cities including Washington, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Though the vast majority of the tour will take place in the United States, there will be one stop in Canada at the Casino Rama in Orilla, Ontario.

Tickets for the Liberation tour will go on sale beginning next Friday, May 18, at 10 a.m. local time. Every tour ticket purchased will include a free copy of Aguilera’s new album.

Last week, Aguilera formally announced the release of her eighth studio album, Liberation. In conjunction with the new album’s announcement, she released the official music video for the record’s lead single “Accelerate.” The track was produced by Kanye West and features rappers Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz. Earlier this week, Aguilera was confirmed as one of the many performances to take the stage during this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Demi Lovato will join Aguilera on stage for the live debut of “Fall in Line.” The 2018 Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 20, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The complete event will air live on NBC beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
