Underoath confirm release of ‘Erase Me’

After days of dropping cryptic clues, Underoath have finally given fans what they’ve been waiting for: answers. On Thursday (Feb. 22), the Florida-founded band announced the release of their sixth studio album, Erase Me. The new album, the follow-up to 2010’s Ø (Disambiguation), is set to be released on April 6 through Fearless Records.

The record was produced by Matt Squire (Panic! at the Disco, 3OH!32) who, like the rest of the band members, posted a cryptic message earlier in the day before the new album announcement was made. Pre-orders for the Erase Me are currently available on the band’s website here.

In addition to confirming the release of the new record, Underoath also unleashed the album’s lead single, “On My Teeth.” The over-four-minute clips begins with the band talking about how they were surprised that they were able to keep the new album a secret all this time especially since we are part of generation where everything is posted on social media. Watch the Erase Me announcement/ “On My Teeth” video above.

Prior to dropping the new music clues, Underoath were previously confirmed for a slew of summertime music festivals across the world. The band’s lengthy music festival tour itinerary includes appearances at Montreal’s Heavy Montreal, the United Kingdom’s Reading and Leeds, Spain’s Download Festival Madrid, the inaugural Las Rageous in Las Vegas, and sister music festivals Welcome to Rockville and Fort Rock in their home state of Florida.
