Months after surprising fans with their first song in over a decade, A Perfect Circle have confirmed the release of their long-awaited fourth studio album. On Monday (Feb. 5), the California-founded band formally announced the title of their new album on social media. The album, the band’s first in 14 years, will be titled Eat the Elephant and is set to be released on April 20 through the band’s new home of BMG.
“Although I’m extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus, I’m actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose,” singer Maynard James Keenan said in a press release.
“The 20th of April is Carina Round’s birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud.”
In addition to unveiling the title and release date for the highly anticipated new record, the band also unleashed another new song from it. Listen to Eat the Elephant‘s third single, “TalkTalk” above.
“TalkTalk” will join previous singles “The Doomed” and “Disillusioned” on Eat the Elephant. Back in October of 2017, A Perfect Circle surprised fans with the release of “The Doomed” while “Disillusioned” was unleashed at the beginning of January just in time to usher in the new year.
Pre-orders for Eat the Elephant are currently available on the band’s website. All pre-orders will receive instant downloads of all three singles.
In support of Eat the Elephant‘s release, A Perfect Circle previously announced a massive tour that will find them traveling all over the world during the spring and summer months. A Perfect Circle’s lengthy tour schedule will kick off on April 14 at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tuscon, Arizona and wrap up on July 1 with ab appearance at Rock the Castle in Verona, Italy.
The lengthy excursion will not only feature several headlining shows of their own, but also a handful of music festivals including Coachella, Germany’s Rock Am Ring / Rock Im Park, the Download Festival in Madrid and the inaugural Los Rageous Music Festival in Las Vegas.
