Modest Mouse to embark on spring 2018 tour

Modest Mouse fans, get ready because the band just announced they will be hitting the road once again later this year. On Wednesday (Jan. 24), the Oregon-founded group unveiled their across-country tour itinerary which will keep them busy throughout the spring and well into the summer. Modest Mouse’s upcoming excursion will kick off on April 18 at Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, Alabama.

After spending much of April and May on the road, the band will take a few weeks off before heading to Louisville, Kentucky during the weekend of July 13-15 for the 17th incarnation of the Forecastle Festival. Pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour dates are currently available on the band’s website using the code word “LONESOME.”

In addition to tickets, the band is also asking fans to sign a petition to block the Forest Service from granting mining permits in the Green River Valley in Colorado. Both the tickets and the direct link to the petition can be found on the band’s website here.

The upcoming tour will be in support of Modest Mouse’s 2015 release, Strangers to Ourselves. Throughout 2017, there was speculation that the band was in the midst of working on the follow-up to the album, but that has yet to be seen.
