Tonight Alive drops music video for ‘Crack My Heart’

With a month left until the release of their fourth studio album, Tonight Alive has gifted fans another new song from the upcoming album. On Monday (Dec. 11), the Australian band released the music video for their latest track “Crack My Heart.” In a press release, vocalist Jenna McDougall explained the concept behind the brand new song.

“The concept of cracking the heart is to allow the precious, vulnerable self to come through and be free. The painful, yet liberating experience involves the emotional and energetic decalcification of the hardened heart,” she begins.

“The lyrics follow my conversation with a ‘winged man,’ a conscious figure, who offers space and safety to do my healing with. In my experience, when you are seen as your authentic self by another, you come to recognize your reflection more accurately and lovingly. Crack My Heart is a tribute to the way that love from the divine masculine elevates and holds space for the divine feminine to flourish.”

“Crack My Heart” will join previously released single “Temple” on the band’s impending new album, Underworld. Underworld is set to be released on Jan. 12 through Hopeless Records. Underworld will mark the group’s first album to be released through Hopeless Records. Back in April, the band announced they had left their longtime home of Fearless Records for Hopeless for the new album.

In support of Underworld‘s release, Tonight Alive previously announced plans to hit the road in early 2018 with Silverstein. “The Get Free Tour” will kick off on Jan. 19 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio and wrap up about a month-and-a-half later on March 1 at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
