Thirty Seconds to Mars celebrate the United States in new music video

After their constant use of the word “soon,” 30 Seconds to Mars has finally unveiled their much-hyped music video for “Walk on Water.” On Wednesday (Nov. 8), the California-founded band unleashed the music video for “Walk on Water” which is all about celebrating the United States of America. As promised by the band, the video features footage from fans around the country as they show what happened when they celebrate the Fourth of July. According to a statement from the band, over 10,000 individuals and 92 professional crews from around the United States, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, submitted videos which showcase what America looked like on that one day.

The music video begins with voice overs from journalists discussing the band’s decision to chronicle people across the country as they celebrate Independence Day. After showing anchor covering the story, the shot changes to the band standing in what looks like a tarmac at an airport countdown until they begin their ambitious project. The music video goes on to feature crowd-sourced footage that was all shot on the Fourth of July and submitted to the band as well as facts about the United States.

According to the band, the four-minute clip is only a sneak peep into the band’s upcoming documentary film, “A Day in the Life of America.” Watch the music video for “Walk on Water” above.

“Walk on Water” is the lead single off 30 Seconds to Mars’ still-untitled fifth studio album. While the group has promised that more information about the album will be coming soon (you know, their overused word), fans of the trio have yet to get anymore details about the pending release. But while an official release date for the album and its companion documentary is still unknown, Echelon members can rest assure that the band is not slowing down.

Last month, the trio announced a massive European tour that will kick off in early March and wrap up in early May. The complete list of tour stops can be seen below.
