Paramore to reschedule Florida shows due to Hurricane Irma

With the threat of Hurricane Irma looming over the state of Florida, it was only a matter of time before some high-profiled concerts were either cancelled or indefinitely postponed. One of those tours to be affected by the upcoming devastating storm is Paramore’s “Tour Two.” On Wednesday (Sept. 6), the Tennessee-founded band officially announced that two of their three shows in the state of Florida have been postponed following days of speculation from fans on social media.

Taking to Twitter, the band wrote a short message to fans letting them know that due to the natural disaster, they would be postponing two of their upcoming gigs. Instead of cancelling, they did promise that they will return in early December. “FL, we’re sorry to miss you this week. We’ll see you in December. Stay safe and thanks for waiting,” reads the post on the band’s official Twitter page.

The group was originally scheduled to take over the Fillmore in Miami Beach on Friday, Sept. 8 and then the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando on Saturday, Sept. 9. As promised, the trio’s “Tour Two” will finally arrive in central and south Florida at the beginning of December. The Orlando show will now take place on Tuesday, Dec. 5 while their Miami Beach show will now happen on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Paramore’s “Tour Two” will officially kick off tonight at the Moran Theater in Jacksonville, Florida. The tour is in support of the band’s recently released fifth studio album, After Laughter. After Laughter was released back in May and earned the number six spot on the Billboard 200 chart as well as the top spot on the Top Alternative Albums chart and Top Rock Albums chart.
