Listen: Fitz and the Tantrums drop new summer jam

Just in time for the summer Fitz and the Tantrums has returned with a brand new song. On Friday (June 23), the Los Angeles-based band surprised fans when they premiered a brand new song titled “Fool.” In addition to the new song, the group has also released its accompanying music video. The over-three-minute clip begins with a young man in his house lip-syncing to the song. As the camera shifts, we see him soon accompanied by his mother.

The viewer watches as his mother does a lot for him including making his breakfast, exercising with him, fawning over him as he plays with a samurai sword, scrubbing his back as he bathes, and then getting upset when he starts to show interest in the girl next door (Fitz and the Tantrums vocalist Noelle Scaggs). Halfway through the clip, mother leaves for the day leaving her poor son alone. Little does she know that instead of waiting for her to return, he’s out living his life with his homies which features the rest of Fitz and the Tantrums. Watch the music video for “Fool” above.

Fool” is currently available on all streaming services. “Fool” will be featured on the upcoming deluxe edition of Fitz and the Tantrums’ 2016 self-titled. Fitz and the Tantrums: Deluxe Edition is set to be released on July 28 and will feature a handful of bonus tracks including previously unreleased live recordings as well as an exclusive remix of “Fool.” In support of the deluxe edition’s release, Fitz and the Tantrums will hit the stage the same day the record is released to perform on the “TODAY” show’s  summer “Citi Concert Series.”

In addition to that, Fitz and the Tantrums’ summer will be spent on the road including headlining dates, festival appearances, and a spot supporting OneRepublic during the 2017 Honda Civic Tour. The group’s touring schedule will kick off this Sunday, June 25, at the Arroyo Seco Weekend in Pasadena, California.
