PVRIS release new single, confirm new album

A day after unleashing their much-anticipated new single, PVRIS has returned with not only its music video, but also a new album confirmation. On Monday (May 1), the Massachusetts-founded band released their almost-five-minute black-and-white music video for “Heaven.” Check out the music video above.

During the weekend, the group spoke with BBC Radio 1 DJ Daniel P. Carter where the original track made its world-wide debut. During their appearance, the DJ tried to pry more information out for singer Lynn Gunn, but she remained tight-lipped about their upcoming album. Instead, she answered a fan-submitted question about the group’s use/idea of Heaven and Hell which seemed to be a recurring theme for the new album.

“This record is kinda meant to throw you a curve, like, ‘is this more in the heaven zone or the hell zone or is it some weird purgatory thing?’ and it’s this weird juxtaposition, ironic world that you’re thrown into. People will see that visually as well as in a lot of the lyrics,” Gunn explained.

In addition to the new song, the group also confirmed that their sophomore album will see a summer release date to coincide with their busy summer plans. The new record will be titled All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is set to be released on Aug. 4 through Rise Records. The band also confirmed they had reunited with Blake Harnage for this new record; Harnage produced their debut, White Noise.

Pre-orders for All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell are currently available on the band’s website here. Those who pre-order the record will receive an instant download of “Heaven.” All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is the follow-up to the group’s hot debut album, White Noise.

In support of the upcoming new album PVRIS’ summer will be filled with nothing but tour dates. PVRIS will hit the road with Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars beginning on May 20 at the Perfect Vodka Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida. The tour will then conclude a couple of months later on Sept. 20 at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, Utah. The full list of upcoming tour dates can be found here.
