Rise Against confirms new album by unleashing new single

When Rise Against announced that they would be hitting the road in the summer, some fans were quick to assume that they would be releasing some new tunes in conjunction with the tour. On Thursday (April 20), the Chicago-founded band confirmed that they will release their eighth studio album in June. The new record is titled Wolves and is set to be released on June 9 through Virgin Records.

In addition to the new album confirmation, the band has also released the lead single from the record, “The Violence.” Listen to “The Violence” above. Pre-orders for Wolves is currently available on the band’s website here.

Wolves found the Illinois boys moving to Nashville to record the new record which was produced by Nick Raskulinecz whose resume boosts bands like the Foo Fighters, Mastodon, and summer 2017 tour mates, the Deftones. In statement, frontman Tim McIlrath revealed the effect moving to Tennessee to record the album had on the band.

“Living in Nashville drove home that we can’t just focus on our differences. If we can stop and talk to each other, face to face, we might realize our common ground. We are all wolves in the same pack, circling at the gates.”

In support of Wolves, Rise Against announced two free shows before kicking off their massive joint summer excursion with the Deftones and Thrice. The group’s upcoming summer tour will now kick off with two new stops; one on Friday, April 21, at the House of Vans in Chicago and the other on Monday, April 24, at the House of Vans in Brooklyn. Both House of Vans shows are free with fans given the chance to RSVP to either show ahead of time. To RSVP for the Chicago date, click here and for the Brooklyn date, click here.
