Lana Del Rey has officially returned with another brand new song from her highly participated fifth album. On Wednesday (April 19), the New York songstress released her second single from her upcoming new album, Lust for Life. The track, which is the album’s title track and features the Weeknd, premiered on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1 show. During the world exclusive, Del Rey talked with the DJ about the new track even discussing how she managed to get the “Starboy” crooner on the track and how the album’s tracks will sound different from one another, giving it a “bigger sound.”

In a separate interview with Courtney Love for Dazed magazine, Del Rey spoke a lot more about the new album and how creating “Lust for Life” was different from any of her previous tunes.
“It was kind of Rubik’s Cube. I felt like it was a big song but..it wasn’t right,” she admitted in the interview to the Hole frontwoman. “I don’t usually go back and re-edit things that much, because the songs end up sort of being what they are, but this one song I kept going back to.”
In addition to using her own judgement for the song, she also joined forces with The Weeknd after consulting Swedish pop producer Max Martin. Working with the Canadian singer was no random partnership; Del Rey had previously worked with him for on two of his own songs “Prisoner” from Beauty Behind the Madness and “Stargirl Interlude” on hid recently released Starboy. “Lust for Life” is the second single from Del Rey’s upcoming new album, Lust for Life. Back in February, she released the record’s lead single, “Love.” Though fans have been given a track listing and title for the impending record, Del Rey has yet to confirm when the album will be released.
This past weekend, she surprised fans by writing a new song after performing at Coachella. She quickly filmed herself singing it and uploaded it onto Instagram.
