The xx announce North American tour

The xx’s 2017 is already looking to be a busy one for the trio. On Thursday (Jan. 5), the English band announced a massive North American tour. The 22-date excursion will officially kick off with the band’s recently confirmed appearance at Coachella on April 14. Following a few shows, the band will once again return to Coachella on April 21 for the second weekend of the music festival. After that, they will continue to tour across the country, wrapping up the trek on May 26 at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine.

Their lengthy tour cycle in support of their upcoming third studio album, I See You, will kick off on Feb. 8 at the Hovet in Stockholm, Sweden. The group will tour around the world and wrap up the journey during the weekend of Aug. 18-20 with a performance at the Lowlands Festival in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands.

The official tour announcement came after the band mailed out free concert tickets to certain fans who pre-ordered I See You. They did a similar thing prior to announcing the European leg of the tour.

I See You is the follow-up to the group’s 2012 release, Coexist. I See You is set to be released on Friday, Jan. 13, the same day general ticket sales for the North American tour will begin. For now, the complete (and long) list of tour stops can be seen below
