New Found Glory announces ’20 Years of Pop-Punk’ tour

On Wednesday (Dec. 7), New Found Glory began to post their past album’s cover art on social media which was met with some confusion over what it meant. On Thursday (Dec. 8), the Florida-founded band clarified what the posts meant when they announced a massive 20th anniversary tour. To celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band, New Found Glory will hit the road in mid-2017 to honor the major moment.

The tour which has been named the “20 Years of Pop-Punk” tour is set to kick off on March 22 at the Soundstage in Baltimore and  wrap up a month and a half later on May 12 at Revolution Live in the band’s hometown(ish) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. During the excursion, the band will play selected albums in full. Those records include everything from 1999’s Nothing Gold Can Stay to 2009’s Not Without A Fight.

“‘You’ll never get anywhere,’ ‘sophomore slump,’ ‘It’s a trend that will pass,’ ‘your ship will sink.’ Well it’s been 20 years. Wondering what the voices say now?” the band’s post on their website reads.  “Luckily there was and still is only two voices we listen to. The passion inside of us and our loyal fans! This tour is for both. We can’t wait to play through all our albums recorded before 2010 and revisit some venues across the U.S. that we have great memories playing at. Thank you for all the years of love and support. Somehow it still feels like the beginning!”

The massive 20th anniversary tour comes after the band announced that their 2017 would include a brand new album. Their last album, Resurrection, was released in 2014 with a re-issue titled Resurrection: Ascension debuting almost a year later in 2015.
