Letlive. has returned with another new song from their upcoming fourth studio album. On Sunday evening (May 8), the band’s latest single “Reluctantly Dead” made its debut on Daniel P. Cater’s BBC Radio 1 show. The song is the second single from If I’m The Devil…, which is set to be released on June 10 through Epitaph Records.

During the song’s debut, frontman Jason Aalon Butler quickly spoke with Carter about the new song and the inspiration behind it. “Essentially, as far as the idea of the song and the content is just simply me trying to figure out a way to humanize authority,” Butler explained.

“You know, for so long I put the blame on people, you know, taking power into their own hands and not really considering the fact that they were people to begin with. Authority, for me, was always a threat and it wore this mask that made it easy for me to kinda talk shit and say I want nothing to do with. In this song, I’m trying to humanize that and understand that people make mistakes and trying to figure out the line and the threshold where, people, I guess go over the line.”

Listen to the new song as well as the interview between Carter and Butler here. “Reluctantly Dead” will join lead single “Good Morning America” on the new record. In support of  If I’m The Devil…, the group will be hitting the road this summer for a North American trek. The complete list of tour dates can be seen below.
