The Smashing Pumpkins Announce Acoustic Tour

After a year full of touring, The Smashing Pumpkins have announced they will once again hit the road. On Monday (Feb. 1), the ’90s band revealed a tour schedule for the spring. The tour will be an acoustic trek, very much like 2015’s “In Plainsong Tour.” The excursion is scheduled to kick off on March 22 at the Schnitzer Hall in Portland, OR. The 19-date tour will then wrap up a month later on April 20 the Cullen Performance Hall in Houston.

Heading out on the road alongside Billy Corgan and company will be Liz Phair. Pre-sale tickets for the tour are scheduled to go on sale beginning Tuesday, Feb. 2. The complete itinerary can be seen below.

In addition to the tour announcement, the press release also teased that there might be some new music on the horizon. The release makes reference to the band following up the tour with a “new recording,” though additional information about that was non-existent. If new music is on the horizon, it will be the band’s first new album in since the release of 2014’s Monuments to an Elegy.
