Back in December, when Coldplay released their new album, A Head Full of Dreams, the band had teased plans to hit the road in support of the new album. Since then, information about their world tour has been minimal with only a handful of dates confirmed. Things have now changed, well, a little bit. On Thursday (Jan. 28), the United Kingdom-based band unveiled several United States stadium tour dates for the end of summer.
In a mass email sent out to fans, the group unveiled the impending tour dates as well as recognition that this will their first US stadium tour. The recently announced U.S. portion of the “A Head Full of Dreams Tour” will begin on July 16 at the MetLife Stadium in New York and wrap up on Sept. 3 at the Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco. Currently, the tour schedule seem to have a lot of vacancies, so anticipate more tour dates additions as the tour gets closer. Tickets for the shows will go on sale beginning Friday, Feb. 5. For those who are part of the band’s fan club, pre-sale tickets will go on sale beginning this Friday, Jan. 29 at 10 am local time on Ticketmaster.
