News of The Starting Line’s new music comes well over a year after the band teased fans about it. During their holiday show last year in their hometown, frontman Kenny Vasoli announced that they had new material and that it would be released in the new year. At the time of the announcement, the new year was 2015 which is now a couple of weeks away from wrapping up.
during a recent interview, Vasoli was asked about the direction of the new material, and according to him it will stick to what they are good at; punk rock. “It’s still punk rock. We’re always going to sound like The Starting Line,” he explained. “I feel like I’ve stepped back far enough that I can really identify with what I liked about pop punk and what I appreciate about it now.”
Anyways is scheduled to be released on Feb. 5, 2016 through Downtown Records. Teh three-track 7-inch was produced by Will Yip and is The Starting Line’s first set of new songs since 2007’s Direction.
