Brandon Flowers Talks About The Killers’ Future

If you were hoping for some new music from The Killers soon, then it appears you might be waiting a little bit longer. On Monday (Nov. 16), frontman Brandon Flowers performed a one-off show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in support of his recently released album, The Desired Effect. While there, NME was able to sit down with the singer and ask him a couple of questions including whether a new album from The Killers will be on the horizon.

“We’re writing – we’re in the early stages,” begins Flowers. “When you get older you get more accustomed to doing it and it gets harder in a way. It’s easier to write a song and finish a song now, than when we used to really slave over it and the songs would be too long or we don’t know exactly what we’re doing.”

Previously, Flowers had spoken out about how he wasn’t completely happy with the final product that became the band’s last studio album, 2012’s Battle Born. “Everybody wasn’t on board last time. I’m not going to say any names, but we just weren’t 100% for whatever reason. People go through life and all have different experiences and I think if we can just get on the same page and really apply what we’ve learnt from over a 1,000 shows now and playing clubs and stadiums and all of that and really apply what we’ve learnt over the years that’s what I’m excited about.”

But even though the band is currently in the process of writing the material, it doesn’t mean that they have a set timeline for the new album. “In a perfect world I think the end of 2016 maybe, there’ll be something,” said Flowers.
