Good Charlotte Console Dumpees in “Makeshift Love”

The return of Good Charlotte continues.

A week after announcing their return, a new song, a one-night only show in the US, and plans to join All Time Low on their European tour, Good Charlotte has now released their first official music video in five-year. On Thursday night (Nov. 12), the band released the music video for their current single, “Makeshift Love,” which seems to mirror the lyric video in some aspects.

The music video finds the guys of Good Charlotte working for a company named BRK APP (yes, break app). The app is described as the “#1 app used to break up” where the one who does the breaking up sends the message to the app and the guys from the app company go and break up with the person. This of course results in them also being the consoling “friend.”

Throughout the video, we see several of the guys doing what they do, except for the last guy who got chased by some kid (and his friends) who got dumped. If you look closely during the video, you can see former My Chemical Romance bassist (and Madden brothers’ friend) Mikey Way and super producer John Feldmann in the video.

Check out the music video (and Benji Madden’s horrible wig) below.

No word yet if this is the lead single for a brand new album. Considering their return and plans to head on the “Back to the Future Hearts Tour,” we’re sure they’re hiding something under their tattooed sleeves. Plus, like guitarist Benji Madden pointed out in an interview, Good Charlotte will be celebrating their 20th anniversary next year.
