Panic! at the Disco are “Victorious” on New Single

The new Panic! at the Disco track is here. Several days after frontman Brendon Urie promised fans that a new Panic! song would be released on Tuesday (Sept. 29), the singer has kept his promise and unleashed the new song.

Our initial opinion of “Victorious” is that it’s a track that may find a better home on the group’s third studio album, Vices &Virtues (just listen to “Nearly Witches”), as opposed to A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. In a Q&A session with fans, Urie was asked which album the new record would sound more like and he answered with “Fever.” But, with that being said, it doesn’t mean that the song is great or horrible; it just means that we need to listen to it a couple of more time to get a real feel for it. Listen to “Victorious” below.

In a letter to fans about the song of YouTube, Urie writes:

“I was never really great at sports. Never picked first for the team. Never had any game saving plays or tricks I could use to my advantage to then be hoisted upon my team mates’ shoulders in praise of my winning awesomeness.

But what I missed in that regard, I made up for in passion and intensity. The guy who was known for turning up the crazy. The guy who said “fuck it I’ll do it.”

That’s truly victorious. Giving it your all when it’s all you have. Giving ’em hell to get a taste of heaven. So I say give ’em a taste of your poison. Turn up the crazy. Tonight, we are victorious.

As of now, there’s no word on when the band’s upcoming new record is scheduled to be released. What we do know is that lead single “Hallelujah,” “Death of a Bachelor” and now “Victorious” will all be featured on it.
